What the actual hell is that Clifford contract?!?
Also Clark hasn't been good to the point he has been a scratch for the Hersey Bears. There is no reason to give up that many assets (or any at all) for him.

Clark was an AHL rookie remember.
Petan is less than nothing.

I just need to buy a new Leaf jersey with Clark's name on it.

Petan is a good Marlie and plays centre (a position of weakness for the Marlies), that has value to the franchise. So yeah he has little value as an NHL trade asset, but he is an asset, and a good one, for the Marlies.

And you don't give term to 4th liners, especially at his age. Anyone who would actually do that contract has no business being anywhere near an NHL team.

Ya, but you said that many assets like Petan and a 4th are worth mcdavid. And I think 4 years for Clif is not that bad. He'll be 33.

What? Are you ESL? How could anyone get that saying giving up two assets for one with essentially no value means they are worth McDavid? Jesus dude.

And Clifford was a 4-5 lw. Unless he wants to take close to league minimum and doesn't have an issue playing with the Marlies in a year or two when he declines you don't pay him.

IF the Leafs resign Cliffy and give up the higher draft choice, 31 spots, than Dubas better get 3 or 4 years out of Cliffy to make it worth the pick upgrade.

Petan and Malgin trades just annoy me; trade defensive skill in Lindholm and a grinder in Marchment for smallish benchwarming fringe players who'll have no impact during the playoffs when defensive and grinders are needed.

Upgrade, no, just different assets. Lindholm would be the better player to have during the playoffs, Malgin is so tiny, seeing him on the ice I think I'm watching the Timbit kids playing during the intermission. Marchment, if ever given a chance, could be a NHL 4th liner. Malgin is bound for Europe anyhow.

btw: Lindholm vs. Petan after the trade: Lindholm is NHL, Petan AHL.
Malgin vs. Marchment Leaf career: Malgin=0 pts, Marchment=1 pts.
