Yeah. I kinda wanted to keep him as a 4th liner but that wouldn't fit to the cap..

Damn Boss, I was working on a ARI-DAL trade.

Faksa + 2021 2nd for Söderström + Raanta

What do you think?
Raanta to buy time for Oettinger. Harley and Söderström are waiver exempt (and expansion exempt). Dallas would probably be set on D for the long haul.

Can't see ARI accepting. As much as I like Faksa, I think Söderström is off limits for now. ARI seems to be very high on him.

That seems like a pretty fair sharks trade. I think I would try to change the pick from the SJ second to the colarado second though, and maybe add something else

I don’t know if Buffalo is desperate enough for a 2C to take on that Stepan contract but I can tell you Dallas def passes. Grabner is terrible with term left. Goose is 34 with term left. So you expect Dallas to give up two guys with reasonable contracts AND a second round pick AND take on additional cap/term?? Hard pass

What the f*ck are you talking about? Both Goligoski and Grabner are rental assets as both of their contracts expire after 2020-21 season, making them perfect rentals for Dallas. Goligoski is a good offensive D to pair with Heiskanen or Lindell, and Grabner brings speed and ability to kill penalties.

Stepan also have one year left. Could be a long shot, but it it works it's a very cheap price to pay for a good 2C.

Only concern for Buffalo here is Stepan's contract. It's a big upgrade, but that cap hit is significany considering the Sabres have two lines to fill.

Dallas is in win now mode - and that deal is an upgrade on either player coming back. For what it's worth, I like it.

Not sure about that Carolina deal. Given what's on the Canes blueline, where does Demers fit?

He is 100% movable, just the wrong team. I would try cap strapped Vancouver. They are gonna have to pick one of Stetcher or Tanev. Demers could be a stop gap for Joulevi.

Yeah that's a good point. Thought process was that Canes might want a 3rd RHD in the roster behind Hamilton and Pesce

Possible, but I think they slide Fleury to his offside. That blueline is just too deep to be adding to it. And if we say the Canes are game, and the Yotes are rebuilding then I would be temptes to expand that deal to include Fleury.

🤔🤔🤔🤔 Dzingel and Fluery for Demers and a

But, if the Canes are looking to do something like that, the deal should be expanded to include Fleury.

Demers might work as a 7th D.

I don't think CAR is interested in flipping Fleury.

Honestly Demers can be dropped from the deal. Just needed to put him there as I needed to get rid of his cap.

Understood. Why I suggest Vancouver, or maybe Calgary?? A couple landing spots that make sense.

That’s my fault. I didn’t realize this season was still showing. I’m still not a fan. I already wish we didn’t have Cogliano’s contract and that would be like adding a nearly identical contract. I’d be okay with Goose now that I realize he doesn’t have an extra year of term. A second rounder seems steep but I guess the point production is still there and we know he’s good with Klinger. We also know Miro on his off side with Lindell works. I feel like Buffalo needs to do better than Stepan. The value is right on that trade tho and I agree with others that said if they can’t find something better it’d make sense
