6th pick has a greater chance of falling then climbing, Doubt Vegas moves Tuch for Ristolainen. There wont be any CBOs with a flat cap.

Well this would certainly be amazing
Probably tough to pull all that off though

I’d try to upgrade Hutton though
That winless streak he had last year killed us

You are absolutely correct it is more likely that the 6th OA will become the 7th OA than the 3rd OA.
But we in Buffalo can only dream as we lost 5 out of the last 6 lotteries.

I doubt Botterill would trade Ristolainen for Tuch and a 6th.
Ristolainen would easily be Vegas' #1 RHD.
He eats minutes like ants eat honey.
He is near the top of the nhl hit parade.
His +/- is more in line with the team's GF - GA
He is one year older than Tuch and has 4 pt seasons while Tuch has had only one.
IMO McPhee would give up more than a 6th and Tuch to get Ristolainen.
But I could be in error, just my opinion as I get to watch him play against other teams top lines.
BTW maybe you should ask Ovi how much he likes playing against Ristolainen, you may get an interesting answer.

Nice points about Risto. I’ll even take it a step further.

The thing that the Risto haters don’t get,
is that he actually does have value...
Not to everyone, bc I’m sure there’s some GMs that don’t like him, and thus wouldn’t give up much for him.
But those aren’t the GMs that Botts would move him to.
The team trading for him would see him as a “top4” (at least) minute eating physical defenseman, who also scores 40+ points regularly.
And those GMs will absolutely VALUE him.
I’m sure they’ll try to get him as cheaply as possible,
but Botterill has already proven he won’t give him up cheap.
If he was going to, it would’ve already happened.
So IF, yes IF, he’s moved- bc it still at least sounds like we wanna keep him from comments made by Botts & Coach Kruger, and it sounds like Risto LOVES playing for Kruger- so IF he is ever traded, it’s gonna be for a good return.

So in this case, maybe that pick would be more like a 3rd, that could become a 2nd based off usage & points?
Tuch is coming off a very down season after all,
and Risto rebounded nicely from his previous poor one the year before.
