If Buffalo were to actually trade Eichel, I would take solace that this is a good return.

so you wouldnt take two aprox 90 point players for 1 90 point player? I know points arent everything, but I think this would help Buffalo so much more.

Also as a Canes fan Id rather keep Aho and Teuvo > Eichel.

Remember, this is a guy who think Slavin is better than Eichel. Also that Eichel is barely a top 25 forward and Slavin is a top 5 dman in the league.

I would like to preface this by saying that this would be a good trade for Buffalo imo. But neither Aho or Teravainen have ever eclipsed 90 points or been on pace to at seasons end.

This is why I sometimes hate advanced stats. Eichel is obviously they better player, but we are supposed to see on a graph who’s better.

They are from the same draft. Eichel has 74 more points in 44 more games and that counts stats from when he was 18 and aho wasn't in the league. Also aho wasn't on a 90 point pace this year, but eichel was on a 94 point pace.

Aho had one more point than eichel last year in 5 more games.

I would take this only if Jack asked to be traded. He's the franchise right now.

They're not, though. Teravainen's never even been on pace to crack 80. Aho... I guess... but 'approx' 80 point player would be more accurate. Nothing against either of these players, but why not just call them what they are/have been up to this point?

To say Eichel is obviously the better player is just bias. I get accused of being biased to no end on this site, but I can quantify it with stats. And not just over 1 year. That graph reflects the past 3 years, and it shows Aho to be the better player.

Well I’m positive every fanbase would rather have Eichel than Aho.

I'd personally rather have Aho because he suits our needs better. Not saying Eichel isn't an amazing player, but Aho was on pace for more than 45 goals this year. A potential 50 goal scorer is just a better suit for a team that's meant to be a cup contender but finishes middle of the league in scoring.

aho had 38 goals and 66 points in 68 games. eichel had 36 goals and 78 points in 68 games. aho has 121 goals in the past 4 years (310 games). jack eichel has 113 in 273 games. 8 less goals in 37 less games. he also has 18 more points in 37 less games.

and thats with eichel being on a BELOW average scoring team.

Aho is also a year younger than Eichel. You've also just proven Eichel has injury issues. Aho's missed 4 games in his career due to a dirty high hit from Mark Giordano 3 years ago, so Eichel missing more games suggests problems.

but eichel has more goals per game in the time they have been in the league together while putting up more points. you specifically talked about aho's goal scoring,

Aho's offenive ability to generate chances is better than Eichels. OH! And Aho is primarily a pass-first player. He's always wanting to pass the puck off insetad of shooting himself, and it's very annoying but it's what he does. Plus, Aho's deal is much better than Eichel in terms of cap hit. you also said Eichel has missed 2 stretches, except he also missed games this year (so you still cannot read stats, which is embarrassing).

Aho's deal is not better than eichels at all, seeing as it ends 2 years earlier.

Eichel missed 1 game. and still outscored aho by 10 points (12 assists) Eichel is frustratingly a pass first guy yet still scores at a better clip than aho.

Id like to see Ahos ppg pace in his last 30 games. Like I said he was almost non existent at the beginning of the year. 90 points guarenteed next season if he plays a full 82
