Description
Had to create Romanov and Ylönen.
If Romanov can play and I think he will be allowed....then he'll be in the lineup for sure.
Ylönen would be a black ace.
I opted for Fleury on RD because he brings a physical presence that will definitely be needed in the series.
Mete over Kukak on the final LD.

1st line stays
2nd with Drouin and Domi and Armia scoring potential. Armia brings a needed defensive awareness to that line as well.
3rd with Byron, Suzuki and Leks to counter Malkin line.
(FYI - depending on the situation, Byron and Drouin are interchangeable)
4th. I really like this line. The kid line that will be hungry to show what they can do in limited min.

IT BE JUULSEN NOT FLEURY

I was thinking about that but Juulsen hasnt really played much in the last two years. That's a long time to be out and then be thrust into a dire situation like this. Fleury has played all year and if I'm not mistaken the only reason he was sent down was because fatigue was starting to show. After 3 months of rest he should come back strong like he was at the beginning of the year.
That's why I have Fleury over Juulsen

Also, isn't Juulsen a LD? Can't remember if he was playing Rd before.

That hasn't been officially announced by the league yet if I'm not mistaken.

No he is a right D and finally 100 percent healthy again he was first round draft pick will be a solid top four defensemen. Scouts and annalists said lavals last game he looked impressive like his old self before he got hurt if you watched him then he is petrys successor with the possibilty of replacing even weber. id say if he never got hurt petry would have been traded at deadline this year.

its actually possible that he does still play they let Gavrikov play last year for Columbus who was already into there series with Tampa. this is what the habs are actually arguing right now. it seems Daly was a little early with his statement that romanov cannot play

Again, this lineup suggest an early out for the Habs. No problem with that, because we give the kids experience and get a better draft pick in a good draft.

If they'd want to try to move past Pittsburgh, Kulak, Weal and Weise are in and Romanov, KK and Evans are out.

I heard the same thing. The NHLPA will fight this and I actually think he surely could play.

Yeah, there's no reason why he can't play

I like Byron and Domi (played well together), then Drouin and Suzuki would be curious to see how they mesh.

- I'm not sure if Romanov should play....will that eat a year of his entry level contract? I'd like to have 3 full years of a cheap top 4 LD. --- definitely shouldn't be on the top pair.
- Juulsen hasn't played enough this year, stick with Fluery. Juulsen will be back next year.
- I like the idea of a young 4th line....but KK won't / shouldn't play....spleen injuries take months and months. No way they should risk a severe re-aggravation

Tatar - Danault - Gally
Drouin - Suzuki - Armia
Lehks - Domi - Byron
Poehling - Evans - Weal
--- maybe sneak Hudon into the LW for Lehks. Although I'm not too high on EITHER of them anymore.

I agree, though I think management wants to see him play this year. I also agree about Fleury, though I believe it will have to be Juulsen next year, as he would be required to pass through waivers while Fleury is waiver exempt next season. I like them both enough to not risk loosing one (at least before the Seattle draft).

Not sure Kukak and Weal would get the habs past Pitt?
They have 0 years of playoff experience just like the kids mentioned. I'd much rather play the kids who are normally much more hungry and receptive to playoff type atmosphere. The only one from the three that you mentioned is Weise who bleeds Habs blood and comes to play only thing is I think he's past his expiry date.

It was less of an opinion on my part than an observation. Coaches like Julien often prefer veterans to rookies when playoff time comes. Weal has seen some time on the PP this season under Julien and Kulak is an easy decision over Romanov who probably can't play this season.
