Detroit would rightfully ask for a higher-end prospect than Kaut if they were trading Mantha, particularly as the 1st is likely a late 1st and a year away. Think Newhook would need to be involved.
Anaheim would be delighted with Timmins as a young two-way RHD is their biggest need. They'd likely push for a late 1st to be included as well though instead of Kamenev + 2nd.
Overall I doubt Colorado would make BOTH of those trades because we don't need TWO top 6 forwards. Burakovsky has had a great season, pacing 28 goals and 64 points, and there's no reason to bump him down to the 3rd line.
The Zadorov for Brown + 2nd trade is interesting, because Brown is a serviceable No.6 who replaces some of the size and physicality Zadorov brings. That said, I think I'd prefer to acquire a piece with more upside than that. Konochonok + 3rd, or 2nd + McKeown from Carolina.
The Winnipeg trade would be a bad return on Jost. Vesalainen is Winnipeg's best forward prospect, but that says more about their weak forward depth than it does about him. Have a read in
this HFBoards player discussion thread and you'll see that many Winnipeg fans think he should be traded because he's not performing well and doesn't look likely to be an impact player. Needless to say I think we can do better if we move Jost.
As for your roster:
- you're going to struggle to resign Makar/Grubauer/Landeskog with all 3 of Mantha/Burakovsky/Rakell on the team.
- The D pairs look out of order, as Cole/Brown would be the 3rd pairing.
- Moving all 3 of Graves, Zadorov, and Timmins in the same offseason would be risky as it would entail going into the season with one of Byram/Cole as the 2nd pairing LHD.
- Dries and Lindholm as the 13th forward and No.7 don't fill me with a tonne of encouragement. Ideally Brown would be the No.7 and someone like O'Connor is the 13th forward.
