I think the proposal at the top is pretty good. A good RHD to paid with Rielly, middle-6 forward, and a decent prospect/pick

But he isn't getting traded tho, that's just what I think his fair value is

two separate issues
1- that fowler trade was a dude who got mad that leaf fans (specifically me) called him out on being a dummy so he made a bunch of childish troll threads
2- people think that because Marner had a good but not incredible season and the fact that he is maybe 1-1.5 million over paid that he is useless and needs to go, and people are dumb

they undervalue him because of his contract. In truth if marner goes the best proposal I saw for him is the one where he goes to NJ for a 1st + 3-4 good players (i think they were bratt + Severson + foote + Boqvist)

Dubas…..giving Nylander and Marner 6 years and Matthews 5 years. Obviously Matthews wants to play for an American city ASAP and Marner wants to be UFA at the same time as J.T.

Because that happens so often. Matthews is a Leaf for life. No question, one of Nylander or Marner may leave but I doubt that will happen for at least 6 years. This notion that Matthews wants to leave is just laughable. JT left because Snow was terrible and Lou is no better. Hall left New Jersey because the team sucks and he's running out of career. Players just don't leave their teams in the NHL unless they just cost too much and are secondary players.

not incredible though, not what people expected of him. his biggest supporters were mad he didnt make him look good and his biggest detractors were delighted he didnt hit the heights his contract demands set up. Basically people looking for a reason to be mad tossed in with cap madness because that's all anyone seems to care about when talking about the leafs. Contract value is more important than on ice value
