They are all bad for MTL but the CBJ trade is the worse

Neither Columbus or MTL are making that trade. Columbus has no use for Kulak and Depending on the Domi contract I doubt they can afford him if he’s over 6.5 mil. I’d have to guess Domi is closer to 8x8 at this point.

Domi is very far 8x8.... before Covid and a flat cap , he was 6x6... But now he will be under 6m per year

I doubt that... Domi had as good of a year as other players making 8 mil. Maybe he takes a 5.5x1-2 but anything long term will be 7+. He is an RFA with arbitration rights and has only been better since signing the 6.3 over 2 year contract...

Domi at 8x8 is insane, that’s a ridiculous contract for a guy who has ONE 70pt season on a career high shooting percentage and his next highest is 52pts. Those kind of contracts get GM’s fired.

Not if he continues to improve, I agree that 8x8 is high but Domi would likely get and 8x7 on the open market.

I’d also say that Domi=PLD. They have close to the same stats over the past few years and people say that PLD is getting 7x3 like Point and Tkachuk.

Domi and PLD aren’t on the same plain. PLD is 3 yrs younger, a true C, was on track for back to back 60pt seasons. Domi getting $7M is a huge over pay, especially as a winger. Don’t get me wrong he is a nice player but I wouldn’t be committing long term on that type of aav for a guy who is a 50-55pt player.

If he’s a wing Columbus is not interested in him. We have no use for antobtet wing, we need a 2nd line center. Preferably one who’s only signed for a year or 2 and won’t cost too much. Foudy or Texier should be ready by then.

He is better at Center, so we can stop saying he’s a winger. He needs to improve is faceoff, that’s it
