Description
I like this team. Offense is loaded and is younger. Defense has good prices. Goaltending is ok.

Tampa declines, no need to go after Cernak anyways

Not the best idea to go after Patrick, too risky

Cirelli isn't being traded, And Johnson isn't leaving Tampa for San Jose. The 3rd worst team in the NHL. Yeah not happening.

It’s more than what they get in a offersheet. And cereak is what you get for Johnson contract

johnson isn't just a cap dump, cernak has plenty of value on his own and if they are losing cernak, they will keep cirelli at that money. and cirelli would have to want to sign an offer sheet

Dallas declines. Brent Burns contract is atrocious, and Dallas already has one of those on their roster (Jamie Benn). Dallas is also extremely thin on goal scorers, so losing Gurianov would be a pretty significant blow to their forward group. Add to that the smaller pieces in the trade, and the pieces being moved simply don't benefit Dallas enough to warrant them taking on a $40M contract over the next 5 years.

Dallas also has to be cautious of the expansion draft. If they were to acquire Burns that leaves them with 4 defensemen to protect. With all the NMC's they have on the roster the only realistic protected list they'll submit includes only 3 defensemen. This means they would be losing one of Lindell, Heiskanen, Klingberg, or Burns.

Trading this package for Burns has some negative consequences in the short & long-term for Dallas.

Patrick would be the exact kind of player to take a risk on....

Not the third worst team in the NHL!!! We were a cup contender last year and a basement dweller this year we will be better next year we’re a consistent playoff team in a great weather market

The sharks were not good this season. There’s no getting around that. But they were injured to the moon and back. And some of there young guys didn’t take steps.

San Jose/Bay Area is a great place to live. Weather is great. Dedicated fan base. Great locker room.

We may have had a down year but we are no means a unattractive team to go to.
