Since Ferland and Johnsson have essentially the same cap hit, and both are coming off injuries, why not just leave them out of this? Stecher has twice as many games in the NHL as Dermott, so Stecher for Dermott and the 6th is about right.

Kapanen isn't a bad idea for us -- you can have Kupari or the second, but not both. We have no interest in another bottom-6 LW.

It is not a slam dunk and I think that Vancouver probably declines but... I like your line of thinking.

That 3rd line would be tough to play against. We need more of "that".

VAN decline, they need cap space. Ferland can go on LTIR at any moment and Stecher will remain a Canuck unless they re-sign Tanev. They first want to get their own RFA's signed and Markstrom.
