Kilorn isn't waiving for Detroit. Detroit is rebuilding so why would they trade the 32nd pick for a 30yr old? Detroit declines.

unless they're going to a team that has an equal or better chance than tampa at the cup, while playing more minutes or higher in the lineup, and that team also has cap space to take them, the maybe.

Killorn doesn't have a choice he can easily be traded. Johnson has almost zero control over his location next year, especially with the expansion, he could very well want to choose where he brings his family this year.

Why would he not waive to play for Buffalo?
He would definitely be paired with Skinner.
He is right handed passing to left handed Jeff.
He would get more than 14:33 of ice time.
He would get more PP time instead of 3rd center minutes he had in Tampa.
His stats would go up so he could get a big pay day when he becomes a UFA in 3 years.
If BriseBois offered this to Botterill, I am think Jason would accept.

He would be a great fit. But the Sabres are probably the worst run organization in all of sports. I don’t see them waving hopefully I’m wrong.

1. He could but unlikely, Johnson has no sentimental connection to Buffalo and they aren't exactly winning the cup next year. He has full control over his location next year so why would he just go there.
2. Playing with Skinner us not some amazing incentive
3. At 2C there is a 90% chance his LW shoots left
4. Most teams would give him more time
5. He still got PP time just not 1st unit, he's raelly not a first PP unit guy.
6. Would they?
7. Yes he would

You know the real problem is the team sucked after three years of Murray.
After trading away prospects and picks to fast track the rebuild, the team finished in LAST PLACE and won the lottery for Dahlin.
What does one do to a team that finished last over all, rebuild and trade away the valuable assets.
The rebuild started when Dahlin was drafted.
This is the third year, the playoffs are a must now.
But with a new GM there will be new direction and of course more confusion.

Look at this defense that Botterill inherited. Two NHL quality Defensemen the rest AHL caliper or out of the North American Hockey completely:34 Casey Nelson D 11 Rochester Americans
67 Brady Austin D 5 Kladno
45 Brendan Guhle D 3 San Diego Gulls
46 Erik BurgdoerferD 2 Hershey Bears
77 Dmitri Kulikov D 47 Winnipeg Jets
4 Josh Gorges D 66 Out of hockey
38 Taylor Fedun D 27 Texas Stars
41 Justin Falk D 52 Belleville Senators
47 Zach Bogosian D 56 Tampa Bay Lightning
6 Cody Franson D 68 Omsk Avangard
29 Jake McCabe D 76 Buffalo Sabres
55 Rasmus RistolainenD 79 Buffalo Sabres

Even taking out Dahlin, this defense has 6 NHL caliper defensemen.

24 Lawrence Pilut D 13 Buffalo Sabres
58 John Gilmour D 4 Buffalo Sabres
4 Zach Bogosian D 19 Tampa Bay Lightning
6 Marco Scandella D 31 Dallas Stars
33 Colin Miller D 51 Buffalo Sabres
19 Jake McCabe D 66 Buffalo Sabres
10 Henri Jokiharju D 69 Buffalo Sabres
62 Brandon MontourD 54 Buffalo Sabres
55 Rasmus RistolainenD 69 Buffalo Sabres
26 Rasmus Dahlin D 59 Buffalo Sabres

Botterill made a lot of mistakes this year.
I am not sure if kruger was the right choice.
He never properly addressed the #2 Center, nor RH forwards.
He totally buggered the Scandella and Frolik trades.
He may have traded for too many RHD.
Skinner, Vesey, Rodrigues and Hutton all had career worse seasons.

Just as the team seemed to come together Ullmark and Olofsson get hurt. Now part of that is not having the depth to make up for injuries.
i am an eternal optimist, we will see, but IMO the patience will bearing fruits.

Well there is my rant of the night.
