This team won't make the playoffs- TOR/BOS/TB are locks for the top-3 in the Atlantic at this point, and you will need to beat out NYR/NYI/CBJ/PIT to get a wildcard spot. Not happening.

If Minnesota is looking to rebuild as rumored and move Brodin, Dumba and Parisi, then I think they will be wanting high draft picks, center and defenseman prospects.

If the Wild are going to rebuild as rumored and move Parisi, Brodin and Dumba I am quite sure they will be looking for high draft picks, defenseman and center prospects in return.

I am not convinced that Tampa and Boston will be locks until this offseason is over. Boston will have Krecji, Bergeron and Rask all 1 year older working on a condensed off season and a compressed schedule next year. Not to mention that Krug and/or Chara may not be back. Tampa may be losing Cirelli and/or Sergachev. If they find a way to keep them that means they will have dumped several supporting players and replaced them with ELC's or league minimum guys. I am not that convinced that Columbus or the Rangers are much better than the Sabres right now. Pittsburgh's best players are on the wrong side of 30 and may reg regress next season.

They are retooling on the fly owner won't except a rebuild. Only looking to move 1 of Dumba or Brodin for a top 6 center or a starting goalie. Parise is still a productive lw in the NHL Wild have no interest in moving him for the sake of moving him, so if he is moved it's for useful parts.

Buffalo was 13 pts behind the Leafs this past year with a game in hand.
Hutton totally collapsed, easily lost 3 to 4 games.
Skinner and Vesey had career bad years, easily lost 3 to 4 games.
Dahlin will be a year older, smarter wiser could add 1 or 2 wins.
Kahun, Mittelstadt, Thompson and Cozens, at least one or maybe all four have an impact next year.
Give the GK Keys to Ullmark, get Skinner a better center, bring the kids along slowly, yup, I can see the team competing next year.
If Hutton, Vesey and Skinner did not disappear this year, they would have been in the preliminary round easily.

@dzmets
I am not a big fan of giving up that much for Cirelli, but if it put the team in the playoffs, sure.
I think you are a bit optimistic in the other trades, but why not who would have thought Skinner for a second, Jokiharju for Nylander, Miller for a late 2nd, and Montour for a first.

Maybe take Middlestadt out of the TB trade and put him in the Brodin package. Then just retains Davidson. Drop the 2nd round pick in the Vancouver deal and use the 3rd in the TB trade instead of the 2nd. I think Cirelli is just the player that the Sabres need and Brodin would solidify the second pairing on the back end.

I mean as someone who goes to Sabres games (so much cheaper then Leafs games lol) I hope they do well but they aren't there yet. And as the past 2 pres trophy winners I'd say BOS/TB are in a good position.

Keep in mind Toronto had horrible injury luck and were much better 2nd half of the year under Keefe. There not going anywhere imo.

That is the position they are in know. Their teams might look drastically different when next season starts.
