Quoting: Rob32sjsharks
You’d rather limp along in mediocrity for another 4-6 years? Before we shave nothing worth anything and rebuild for 6-7 years or jump start the rebuild and have a cup contender in 4-5 years?
Truthfully, I don't think things are as bleak as you think they are. The only difference between last season and this past season is three RW forwards and a better goalie (albeit, not by much). In addition to that, the greatest offender was DoBoer's refusal to change his strategy for a team missing Pavs, which led to a frustrated group of players without proper guidance.
Under Boughner's coaching they'll start with a brand new system which favors EK65's QB, Cooch's leadership, and the team's overall desire to be winners again. They'll emphasize physical training during the off-season; EK65 will finally heal completely (not rush his therapies following a deep Playoff run), Jones can finally take time to rest and train to get back to form, and the team can drill drill drill on the new system. They'll add a forward or two, slot in another backup goalie, and maybe find another 3rd pair Dman. Possibly move out Burns or Vlasic, but probably not, and draft more prospects.
Either way, they will be better next season. I say this not from a position of pure faith, but from a position of reasonable understanding. The pieces are out there and we have the money and will to bring them on. We will be ok.
