You'd have a lottery pick this year instead of somehow waving a magic wand to get a 1st for Barclay Goodrow

Realistically, they probably use part of the Karlsson money to keep Pavelski, no?

Not sure why you think the leafs would ever consider that but overall you aren't in a much better position. Certainly less long term cap issues but shirt term you're in the same place

Sens would still have the 1st. They got a 2nd for him re-signing

No just like Marleau they offered a 35 year old Pavalski 2 years 10 mil and he jumped for the 3 years 21 (obviously) and the stars got 16 goals ... is that worth 7 mil I would let him walk again! I’m sorry but it was the right call and I’ll give Wilson credit when it’s due (And it’s rare) and both Pavalski and Marleau’s contracts cost their teams.

I literally took that trade off multiple leafs forums so I think it’s fair.

I still think we have big issues with our prospect pool and our lack of high end prospects (lots of depth players and a few middle 6 prospects no Legit top line prospects Maybe 1 or 2 top 6 prospects but barely. And a few 4-6 D Men. The only place we have talent and depth in our prospect pool is goalie
Edmonds is 3-4 years away but very good Melnichuyk is 1 year away and I think he’s Allstar potential and Kofar is 2-3 years and starter potential. And we have a few other guys who may be backups one day.

I was being lazy So in my head Karlsson strings us along and signed with someone else a week before training camp we are stuck with virtually the same roster minus Karlsson and we retool this offseason

Betting on a Mango rebound is far better than getting an overpaid 4th liner and some mid to late picks. I don't care what some Leafs forum tells you there is no chance this trade is even considered. Makes zero sense for us.
In case you didn't realise, most fans (not just Leafs fans) don't have a ****ing clue what their team needs.

But you guys desperately need cap space and honestly I feel Sorenson or Johnson are wildcard maybe they have good years maybe they blow up who knows

Who said we desperately need cap space? They obviously haven't actually looked for themselves. Even if we did we certainly wouldn't be taking Sorensen in a trade as that defeats the whole purpose.

He’s a 3rd line 10-15 goal and our best penalty killer for 1.5 saving you guys 1.8 mill without sacrificing much he has a little of what you guys need and Johnson has a little of what we need

Johnsson can and has been a 2nd liner. It isn't even close.

Literally nothing. Don't want Sorensen. Our wingers are better and paid less (see Engval).
