The only way I could see FLA declining though is their cap picture. Everyone brings up the paycuts in florida related AGMS... and they shouldn't define the trades, but it's something to keep in mind.

The Panthers are only adding $750,000 in salary, so that shouldn't break the bank -- especially since they're probably losing $13 million from Dadanov, Haula and Hoffman and saving $6 million internally on Barkov, Ekblad and Huberdeau.

If we do end up moving Tuch it won't be for a player, it will be for a pick(s). That will free up money to keep Lehner. Tuch had an injury plagued year, but his ceiling is ridiculous. I'll be very curious to see him play this summer. Hope he's finally healthy so we can see the real AT.

I don't think $4.875 million is going to be enough to keep Lehner and you need help at RD, just like Anaheim and Toronto, among others. You are right, though, that this would be a bad time to trade Tuch because you'd be selling low.

I certainly wasn't suggesting $4+M will keep Lehner, we just need piggy bank help a whole lot more than we need RD help.

But the piggy-bank help you'll get from trading Tuch for picks won't ever get you there. To put it another way, if you trade Tuch for picks, how does that help your defense?
