$1.5m-$3m bridge deal I'm guessing. Somewhere around what JEE, Donato, and Fiala signed for last offseason.

He's not a guy I would want to trade, but MN is log-jammed at the LW position. I'd prefer it be Donato traded rather than Greenway.

I'd happily trade Donato for a fourth rather than Greenway for a third, you're absolutely right there. But this strategy more or less requires me to move both.

So you'd be fine doing it for a 3rd?

We can a 3rd or 2 for Kerfoot so maybe it's a 3-way trade with EDM.

To MIN: 3rd
From MIN: Greenway

To TOR: Greenway, 4th

Since Edmonton is getting Kerfoot and Toronto is getting Greenway, then the 3rds (if not all three picks) should be going to Minnesota.

The 3rd from Edmonton is going to Minny. However Kerfoot is worth slightly more then a 3rd so TOR gets a 4th.

So Minny gets a 3rd for Greenway, like suggested in this post.

I'd rather just keep the guys we have than try and bring in replacements for the same cost. Plus the guys we have still have upside and the guys you brought in are what they are as players. I'll take the gamble on the younger guys upside over a couple of future 3rd rounders, who odds are become AHL players.

I don't think Dub or Stalock is taking the team anywhere, but I'm willing to gamble on the young goalies already in the system. Overpaying the goalie position put the team on the fast track to cap hell. Even looking back at the Wild's recent history Dub had a couple of Veznia quality seasons and that got them nowhere in the Playoffs.

Not all thirds are the same. The reason why Greenway goes to Ottawa is that the third is the 33rd overall. Edmonton's third is probably non-existent, but if it still belonged to the Oilers would be about 52nd overall.

I like Lehner. If you could get him for $5m x (up to) 4 deal it would be a great signing. Heck a 1 year deal (like he signed last year with CHI) would be great for MN, but that's unlikely.

So if you got the 4th would it be fine?
