Give 1 legit reason NJ sends the 2016 12th OA pick plus for Chaisson?
You seem to think McLeod has a future in NJ. Why do you think that, because of his success, or are you simply fixated on his draft position?
I'll give you several reasons why:
1. Alex Chiasson is a Stanley Cup Champion, can PK, plays effectively as a net front presence on the PP and is a respected vet who is coaches love because he plays the right way. NJ has no one with a ring on their young roster and this has tons of value to an organization.
2. McLeod hasn't gained much traction in NJ and is generally considered a disappointment. He is not a draft pick of the current GM, so his value will be less than it normally would be.
3. McLeod hasn't shown enough to be a valuable part of the organization moving forward, he regressed by all accounts in his 2nd AHL season. He had to show something to his new GM ast season and he was underwhelming.
4. Replacing him with a player who can lead by example will be a benefit to the organization in the long run, by helping the young talent how to be a pro, instead of losing McLeod on waivers for nothing the following season.
