I doubt NYI takes that much more cap hit & they aren't trading Coleman considering the price they paid for him

Recent bridge deals of established young Dmen coming off their ELCs
Carlo 2 x $2.85M
McAvoy 3 x $4.9M
Werenski 3 x $5.0M
Butcher 3 x $3.733M
Pionk 2 x $3.0M
Sanheim 2 x $3.25M
Nurse 2 x $3.2M
Morrissey 2 x $3.15M

So in your scenario, Sergachev is either a real team first guy, or his agent is terrible.

I was thinking about Carlo's 2 year, 2.85 per contract with Boston. Id say a better d-man than Sergachev and Cernak, and knowing the lightning will be in a bind maybe they take a little less to stay and help the team. Its definately possible that they won't but my thinking is that Tampa is really going to need all of their rfa's to take some kind of pay cut in order to have a chance at keeping them all...Even with the discount contracts and all the trades you can see that its still going to be tight

Probably be hard enough to convince the RFAs to take bridge deals, let alone bridge deals at team friendly rates. Not a lot of security if they happened to suffer a bad injury, also makes them more attractive to other teams to acquire, so that would have to be in the back of their head as well (considering they know trades are 100% necessary with the team that close to the cap).
