Don't think so. Hamilton's TOP5 RHD in the world at the moment. Moving him is not a wise decision.

A 2nd line winger, 3rd pairing D man, 1st and a meh prospect for a top 5 D man is an overpay? Hamilton to Winnipeg starts with Either Connor or Laine I feel. You can drop the first, Pionk, Heinola too. Seomthing like Hamilton (extended) for Connor and a 3rd.

Lets see how Hamilton heals from his femur break before you start trading him. Has to still show how good he is after a major injury

Disagree, Connor is better both in terms of finishing, and playmaking, which makes him more desirable to a team that needs a scoring touch. Ehlers is FAR better defensively, that's not close. But Carolina boast one of the best D cores in hockey, and unless you wanna part with Laine, the piece to build around would need to be Kyle Connor. Pionk is also a 3rd pairing D man, his WAR is horrible, and his GAR is straight up worse bad. Heinola I'll admit I don't know too much about, but he's not the quality of prospect you'd want back for a future Norris winner.

How is that not a quality prospect coming back maybe you’d want a fwd but to say he’s not a quality enough prospect coming back is Comical but i mean hey sure if you want the not as good fwd and a 3rd deal lmao

Erm, I think you misread. The kind of prospect I want for Hamilton would be Cole Caufield, Trevor Zegras calibre. Some of the best prospects in hockey. Heinola, I don't know much about, but just looking at stats he's not that calibre.

It's because I'm interested in trade scenarios, man. Leave me alone. I prefer that Hamilton extends here, as I've said a million times before. I just know how this FO is sometimes when it comes to contract negotiations, especially with UFAs. You can't ever rule out a trade as a possibility.

Overall I agree, but in terms of Carolina needs, Laine > Connor >>> Ehlers. Ehlers isn't as clinical offensively as the other two.

I’d suggest watching heinola play rather then just google his stats and also maybe not the best stats for this year in Finland but world j’s did really well and his short stint with the jets did really well idk what more you’d want for a rookie dman who also plays a very good 2 way game and a very very smart player on the ice.

Another point, a D man. Carolina go 10 deep right now with NHL calibre D men. Not worth removing Hamilton to add another meh defender in the long term. All the reports I can find on him suggest he'll be max a 2nd pairing guy. We have better D prospects than that in our system.

His initial stint in the NHL at 18 years old doesn't make me think that he'll just be a 2nd pairing guy. Sure, he had issues after being sent back to Finland, however, I see him as potentially an NHL player next year in Winnipeg (even though I personally think that he needs more seasoning). Again, I included a 2022 1st in the deal mainly because I don't view Heinola as a Caufield/Zegras-caliber prospect, and to me, Hamilton is easily worth that kind of king's ransom in a trade-and-extension.

Check the new canescord, Ehlers isn't a slouch offensively either...

I got the idea with it, I think you just overvalued Ehlers a little specifically for our need. I think a package of something like Connor, Roslovic, a 1st and something else would be a better fit in the long run. This isn't because Ehlers isn't the better player, it's that he's like a Nino Niederreiter on steroids. He's hot and cold offensively, but always elite defensively. Connor is much more of a goal scorer which is why I'd suggest we target him over Ehlers. Just my thoughts though
