This team is remarkably worse.

This is why huge goalie contracts are team wreckers

Seems pretty fair for the sharks. Do think I’d like to make it the Colorado second but it all depends the teams that are interested

The only ways he signs an OS with Montreal is if he's as loyal as David Perron or Peter Forsberg to their original team. Anyway, I really think the Bolts should keep Cirelli no matter what even if it cost them Sergachev, Cernak and even 1 of Palat/Johnson.

Cirelli, Sergachev then Cernak. They will lose 1 or 2 of Palat/Johnson/Killorn/Gourde to keep these guys. Teams just do not give away their young 22 year old budding talent and do everything they can to keep them. And contrary to popular belief a lot of teams would be interested in those 4 guys, yes they have NTCs but as we have seen players waive them so the Lightning only need to convince one to waive (paging Stevie Y... help your old team out.. lol).

If one of their RFAs signed an offer sheet I think it will be Cernak if the Lightning can't offer what he wants due to Cirelli and Sergachev contracts. Cirelli has already said he wants to stay in Tampa as he already the 2C playing 20 minutes a night on a contending team and Sergachev also said he wants to work a deal out in Tampa. Plus on Sergachev he is extremely close to Vasy and Kucherov so thats another reason where it will be hard for a team to get him to sign an offer sheet.

the thing i wrote was the worst possible scenario. Even if the Bolts end up in this scenario, Cirelli will be the last person to leave TBL.

The Lightning will do everything they can to keep their 3 - 22 year old RFAs... its a pretty simple take to be honest. Both Cirelli and Sergachev have said in the local media here in Tampa that they want to stay and are open to all kinds of deals and want to be back with the Lightning next year.

So the Lightning have a lot of work to do this off season and it won't be pretty but at the end of the off season having to lose their young talent is at the bottom of the list.

Considering Tampa's cap situation, why would we pay Sergechev what he's worth? just offersheet him to a 1 year 5 Million dollar contract. It would benefit both parties.

Why would he sign a 1 year 5M dollar contract from Montreal? Makes no sense.

I understand but IF one or both Cirelli and Sergachev accept an offersheet over 6M somewhere, what Julien’s gonna do

He would let them walk most likely if the contract is such it makes no sense to match but the player also has to want to sign it and from their interviews that doesn't look to be the case. Just look at Brayden Point last year - he was OS from Montreal before they offered Aho and he refused to even look at it. The Lightning do a good job of keeping their RFAs on bridge deals, I don't know how they do it but its been a precedence for the past decade with this team.

because it's more than Tampa can offer him. If he wants to win, he can take a huge discount and stay with Tampa, but he wants more money and still have a chance at winning (far less), he signs with another team.

Tampa would match 5M for Sergachev and then figure out the rest. I think most Lightning fans expect him to be signed for a deal similar to McAvoy so 3yrs x 4.5-5.0M and the Lightning can make that work.

They would match the 5 Million and then have to trade guys out, and then worry about paying him even more next year. Either Montreal gets him at a good discount (compensation) or they **** up Tampa even more. It's a win-win for Montreal. Lose-Lose for Tampa.
