The old counter trade swing to the extreme. I always get a kick out of these. I was expecting Murphy for Nylander but this is really bad as well.

Very original...well actually not original at all, but Nylander is a good forward and that trade is far from decided. Buffalo still isn’t going to make the playoffs in the 24 team format, it’s not as if he is some miracle player that can carry a team.

If you want Alex Nylander, he is going to cost you, he’s not a throw in to some crappy Murphy trade.

Trust me when I say I don’t think this trade is fair, I do however think it is an appropriate response to the original post.

I don't see the motivation for Chicago to trade Murphy right now, they are a sort of in a weird spot, not quite rebuilding but not really contending. They are a team that could see some things break in their favour and make the playoffs and go on a run or they could be a bottom 5 team. Getting rid of Murphy likely means they are out of the playoffs for sure. So trading him is telling the whole team, we are going to suck.

As for A Nylander, I am not sure what he's going to be. He has some skill but unless he takes major strides this next season, I think he could be a reclamation project pretty soon.
