I disagree. The team as a whole was terrible last year. Sending Vlasic to his hometown would probably be good for him mentally. Usually when guy decline they lose their feet first but Vlasic is still an excellent skater. He lost his long-time partner this season (Braun) and was forced to play with Karlsson who he couldn’t cover for all his mistakes (which were plenty) with the right partner I think Vlasic has a good chance of reclaiming his game.

I don't think Vlasic likes his hometown media. He even made fun of them on twitter when a reporter wrote an article about Vlasic buying a house in Quebec.
