I was under the impression that this a solid draft at least to the 7th.
I do not know the value of next year.
I you would rather roll the dice for next year that is fine, Kadri would be perfect.
Is Colorado shopping him now?
Let's make a deal, 1st, 2nd and prospect.

I think he's talking about if they were to OS cirelli. If they did, then yes, Kadri would probably be on the market
Colorado aren't really "shopping" him now. The premise of this idea is that Colorado would successfully offersheet Cirelli, in which case we could afford to move Kadri this offseason. That said, even with Cirelli on the team we could also simply opt to keep Kadri for another year as 3C, and then trade him in 2021 once Newhook joins. Given that we're not in a rush to trade him the package we receive would need to be good.
It makes sense if Buffalo want to keep this years pick (~7th overall), that's a prized asset that would be silly to trade right now. A 2021 1st would be fine, though I wouldn't want to push it into 2022 if possible.
Kadri would only be available after we successfully OS Cirelli first, and that would likely only happen after the draft. As such the picks would probably need to be in 2021.
How about BUF 2021 1st + BUF 2021 2nd + Samuelsson/Johnson (not sure which one you prefer keeping)? That gives you 2 years of Kadri at a cheap $4.5m caphit, and adding Kadri to a team that has Eichel, Reinhart, Dahlin, and Ristolainen would almost certainly see you finish closer to the playoffs in 20/21 thereby putting that 1st somewhere in the middle of the 1st round which seems reasonable value.
