Raymond not very likely to be NHLer at all by next year. Stop rushing players is a good lesson for NJ

It is weird/ sad how much the Devils have become like the Edmonton Oilers of the mid/late 2000's and early 2010's: both lost in the Stanley Cup Finals 2006 vs 2012, lost a major player in the offseason Pronger/ Parise, both have drafted pretty poorly and thus have had to force kids into the lineup, both had Hall, and both had multiple first overall picks.

I've seen worse. NJ was playing very well when the season shut down. I believe the reason for that was because Blackwood was able to come in and simmer down the the horrific NJ goalie situation. Having Blackwood as a starter to start next season should keep NJ from starting the season as poorly as they did this year. Especially if they sign another goalie to make them more competitive on Blackwood's off days.

Raymond isn't ready for the NHL next season, let alone the 2nd line.

I'll take it if it means we get Lafreniére this year as our McDavid

Hughes, yeah that was a tough yr. He's a smallish light kid, Nico was fine yr one, the only player who played the season, had some stretches where he was beat but not bad. Raymond would not start, but I like Holtz better as a Fwd. pick He would not start either. Jersey should learn? They sent their first from two yrs ago back twice! He only ended up winning D player of his league. First OA players for the most part should play their first yr. Look at Nolan Patrick, imagine if the Devs picked him? Ty Smith will have more games played before NP gets playing!
