Actually Bracco does have value... Maybe not for a team like EDM but for a rebuilding like DET or OTT who would like to take a flyer on a skilled youngish player he is definitely worth a late pick.

But when i said “value” i meant enough value that he’d be a significant part of a trade that’s bringing back someone like Puljujarvi, Larson, etc etc

they should just keep him & see if he can rebound this season

Problem is he has to play top 9 as he is "Ahem" lacking defensively... He is behind Marner Nylander and Kapenen so a big reason why he hasnt gotten a shot yet. I agree his value is only 6/7th round pick at this point. He is just never going to get a chance with the leafs.

I'm a Leaf fan. Yea, I fatigued by even the mention of Bracco in an NHL trade. Wish Bracco was eliminated as a roster (Marlie) player on this site, just so he couldn't be traded.

Bracco finished second in scoring in AHL last year. He’s not a proven scorer in NHL yet but he hasn’t had much if a chance playing way down the chart in TO. He’s got value for many teams and probably comes as a cheap option for depth scoring. Right now he probably has almost as much value as a fin who refuses to play in North America.

Kapanen has more value then Larsson. Bracco has slightly less value then PJ. You could probs cut the 2nd.

This is actually a pretty good trade for the Oilers.

Bracco had a 4 goal season because he had a personal matter and was unable to play for most of the season

I think it's been proven that this theory just isn't true, there were plenty of skilled wingers making less then a million a year available for free on waivers yet no teams took a flyer on any of Ho-Sang, Goldobin or Petan so why would they send even a late round pick for a guy who has yet to play a regular season game?

The only way to extract any value from Bracco is in a deal like what's proposed here, move him as a
"sweetener/throw in" in a trade cause other then that he has no value on the trade market.

Haven't we seen hundreds maybe even thousands of high scoring players in junior, NCAA, AHL and European leagues who never get a sniff at the NHL. Their skillset just doesn't translate into the NHL game and against "the best.". Bracco had every opportunity to be a Leaf this year, because of injuries but Dubas and his AHL coach Keefe never called his number.
Watch Bracco play, he's not a NHLer. For Bracco's sake, I hope I'm proved wrong.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the comment. Bracco was a low value , change of scenery add in to this trade. Seems like his time with the Leafs is over (just like Poolparty and EDM). The real value is in Kapanen and the 2nd. This trade does make sense for both sides. Biggest thing that may not work is the retain on Larsson. It makes it work for the Leafs, but maybe not for EDM. They would need to do some cap management on their end.

He played over 70% of the Marlies games

And no matter how u slice it,
ONLY 4 goals in 44games is horrible
And it’s gonna nullify any trade value he HAD

1- that Fin refuses to play for EDM, not everyone
2- that Fin was a top5 pick, Bracco wasn’t
3- that Fin just had a good year, Bracco had a horrible one
