Does Greenway bring grit? If so then I accept on behalf of the Leafs if MIN added a mid pick because Kappy has more skills than Greenway

I would hate to lose Cirelli to an offer sheet, but at the same time, that 2021 MIN 1st could be a really good asset

When he plays aggressively, 100%. He's nearly impossible to knock off the puck and he's a wrecking ball on skates that can score and stick handle. When he's not playing aggressively, he's still good but not the power forward force he could be. That's kind of his catch, and he won't reach his potential unless he's getting top 9 minutes (which he won't with the Wild assuming we sign Kaprizov).

Adding a pick from the Wild is fair IMO.

Yeah that's kind of the gamble. If Fiala regresses and Kaprizov struggles, it could easily be a lottery pick. We're so starved at center I'd be willing to take the risk personally.

Strome kinda worries me, he played mostly with DeBrincat and Kane and obviously those two are studs. I'm not sure he's a dynamic line-driver but he does have skill.

I mean he's a very good playmaker, IMO when he reaches his prime he'll be a money in the bank 25 assists in a season...

LIneup for next season:
FIala-Strome-Kunin
Parise-Staal-Kaprizov
Kappy(assuming the deal is still made)-E-Ek-Zuuc(unless there's a CBO)
Foligno-Donato-Hartman

Honestly not bad

He's good but I just worry that he wasn't able to be a star in Chicago with a hall of fame winger and he'd be coming to the Wild with worse wingers. He's a good player but probably more of a 2C in a contender.

Leafs would probs say no unless all other attempts to get a RD failed. Leafs drafted Pateryn back in 2008 and he got traded for Grabovski. Great guy and player to bad he was in the wrong leafs era especially if paired with matthews. While I like Greenway (we have his bro in reserve) I just dont see Dubas moving Kapenan unless its makes the team better than it already is. Leafs have wing depth for days so I dont see Dubas making a trade for a wing. Its not a bad trade but from where I see it Dubas will probs be looking for a partner for Rielly

That's fair! After I submitted the post my thought was that Leafs fans would prefer a Kapanen deal centered around a solid RD with possibly a depth forward and not the other way around like I have here.

Yeah I was thinking of an idea of a 3 step trade between Nashville-Toronto-Minnesota and it would be like (Kerfoot and a 4th) for (Turris and a 3rd) then Toronto trades Turris and Holl to Minissota for Dumba with salary retained (1.5millish) and a 6th pick. Minissota gets a local player and a 2c and Toronto gets a partner for Rielly. Was originally gonna try for Spurgeon (leafs would add) but just couldnt get the cap to work.In general, Minissota gets a 2nd Center who could do with a new team, Toronto gets a RHD, and Nashville gets a cheaper 3c to replace turris. As for who replaces kerfoot. Leafs make a seperate trade later.

So the lines would be like

Parise-Stall-Fiala
Krill-Turris-Zucurrelo
Greenway- Joel-Kunin
Folingo-Nico-Ryan

That's a bad deal for MN... Id rather just keep Dumba. Dumba was sensational the year he got injured (easily a top pairing player), this year it was all in his head but you could clearly see he still had it. I know Leafs fans think he's horrible defensively but that's not the case at all. When he's producing offense he's actually really good in his own zone, but this year he was trying to force plays in the offensive zone and it let to bad mistakes. Like I said, it was just all in his head this year.

Leafs say no even if we fail to get a RHD. Just use a LHD.

Trading Kapanen for a 3rd pairing RHD would be a terrible mistake.

I agree with you, however, I'd like to add that you're definitely right Dumba is better defensively than most give him credit for but he hasn't hit his peak, meaning there's still another level to his game especially defensively but he needs the right coach to get there. He needs a coach that will let him focus more on the defensive side of his game as his offensive game is already there then he can play the way we both know he can. Can he be the defensive stud we need?... Hell yes, but Keefe isn't the coach to let him and I can't see Minny moving him rn.

I like your initial proposal maybe a pick swap between the two teams where Tarana gets to move up a round but I like this trade for both teams and it seems like a move Dubas would make. As always, great proposal here.

I really only made that trade since I still think we need a right shot forward. Both players are kind of a wash IMO, Kapanen is more proven but I think Greenway has more upside if he can hone his aggression.

If we we're stuck with Zucc I'd be fine with this trade. We still have Boldy who will need a spot in a year or two (guessing he goes pro after his college season ends next year). At worst I think Greenway is a Foligno replacement in the bottom-6; he's not as physical, but he does have more skill. If the goal is to win a Cup MN will need guys like Foligno/Greenway to make it though all the Playoff games.
