Right... So what you're saying is that Batherson is completely untouchable and the sens wouldn't trade him even if the price was right? Hmmm, I guess you believe that Andersson is or was the best goalie during his prime too? And that Alfie was supposed to be a Senator during his whole career? Hahaha
I'm saying the Sens are a rebuilding team, and trading a top prospect is a very stupid idea, unless there is a deal that's an absolute no brainer slam dunk. Neither of those trades are slam dunk trades for Ottawa.
Russell is a cap dump and Benning is a 3rd pairing Dman that I don't really see as a fit for Ottawa. The three pieces of consequence are Abramov, Brown and Batherson vs Puljujarvi a 1st and a 2nd. If you believe that Edmonton is a good team (which I do) that's probably a late 1st in a weaker draft. Not a worthless piece, but I think you're probably hoping that pick becomes a Batherson level player, so you may as well keep Bath. Puljujarvi and Brown are in similar positions, and their value is probably roughly the same. Abramov and a 2nd is pretty much whatever.
Batherson vs Benson on the other hand, there isn't really much of an argument in favor of Benson as the better player. Batherson has crushed him in terms of AHL production over the last two seasons (116P in 103GP for Drake compared to 105P in 120GP for Benson). Benson is good, but Drake Batherson is much better, and that isn't a controversial option.
