That is a very significant offer for Raanta, one I don't think Ken Holland would make. In particular, I don't see Rodrigue being available.

You've also ignored two of the three important RFAs Holland has to deal with this summer. Ethan Bear has played his way into Edmonton's top-4 d-men, and arguably made Darnell Nurse a better player while doing so. Acquiring Andreas Athanasiou cost Edmonton two second round picks and is, at the very least, a replacement for what Puljujarvi was supposed to be in Edmonton; I can't see Holland letting AA walk without recouping at least what he paid to acquire him.

The lineup you've posted would most likely result in a significant regression for the team. James Neal is no longer a top-six forward, Tyler Ennis would not be an effective 3C on a consistent basis, Kris Russell is number 7 on Edmonton's defensive depth chart, and would struggle mightily in a top-4 role, and Evan Bouchard's defensive game probably needs more refining before he's ready for full-time NHL action. You have Nygard in the AHL, but he is far more likely to be on the NHL roster than Benson, and having him allows Tippett to play Khaira as a 4C... where he seems to be more effective.

Personally, I think the deals for Ennis and Sheahan each carry one year too much term, and Sheahan's might be a bit rich given the likelihood that the salary cap is not moving up.

Unless Sheahan lowers his demands he is as good as gone. Oilers insiders are reporting he is wanting between 2.5 and 2.75

Would worry about the term given to ennis and sheahan.
The thing is that rodrigue is the best goalie prospect the oilers have. By trading him for a goalie with 1 year left on his deal, you may just end up losing the trade
No way AA walks away after what holland paid for him

Good calls, across the board.
Raanta could be worth it, with a modest resign.
Rodrigues&Wells may be the future.
Ennis would greatly assist overall depth.
Sheahan is a face off machine..-~
