I think Zaitsev would put NYI on his no trade list because he knows he will be the 7D

only team I could see potentially taking zaitsev is NJ then again I feel he is just gonna get bought out even without a cbo.

It just doesn’t make sense for the isles. Zaitsev has too much term and the isles have to sign pelech, sorokin, beauvillier next summer. I’d rather just move 1 year of boychuk contract next summer.

They get some short term cap relief which they need, and Zaitsev could easily be a Seattle Something or Other at the end of the season.

I’m pretty sure Seattle is big into analytics, I can’t see them taking Zaitsev, especially with 3 years left on his deal after next season.

Sure this gives them short term cap relief , but there are other ways to create cap space than taking on an albatross contract with 4 years left. I know lou signed Zaitsev to the contract, but even lou knows it makes no sense short and long term to acquire him.
