That trade looks a lot different swapping McDonagh for Sergachev...

Now this is interesting. Minnesotans, myself included, have propped up Kaprizov to be some sort of savior for this franchise. We've been waiting eagerly for his arrival here. However...if presented this offer I'd be tempted. We know what Cirelli and Sergachev bring to the table. We could elevate their roles here in Minnesota and hopefully maximize their potential. So do we take a chance and assume Kaprizov will never reach his potential? Or do we stick with him knowing he could very well become the superstar we hope and expect him to be?

Very well @csick , I have no idea what I would do.

If you do this trade, you will never find out. If he puts up 80 points playing with Point and Kucherov, you will never know if he could do it on his own or its a product of the other 2

Which is why I love your proposal. It really, to me, is a fair question. Both sides have a boom/bust scenario. Say Cirelli doesn't produce offensively like the Wild need him to and Dumba bounces back to his 50 point form, this could be a major loss. Plus I think Kaprizov would be a natural fit with Point/Kucherov so I would just be sitting here wondering that what if question for rest of my life.

But the Wild are in such a desperate need for a 1C that this actually might make sense to do.

I actually hope neither side would even consider this trade because I'm already agonizing over it on a CapFriendly AGM post

Yeah I agree with Riley. We already have 30 and over D-men. We don't need another. Even if he told Tampa he'd waive to come to Minny, I doubt Guerin would consider this.
