I expected 30 man rosters but havent actually seen anything besides Treliving vaguely hinting at larger rosters, where did you hear it? Also where did you hear your seeding from?

Leafs (or marlies) are doing exit interviews with players that arent expected to continue with big club after hockey is back. And its said that each team would be able to carry up to 30 players. I think it was CJ.. also the seeding is based off of new format thats been talked about to actually be the one thats gonna be used. It has CBJ-TOR as "1st round" matchup. I would link it here when I find it.

I think Leafs would beat Columbus if they take adventage of CBJ’s inexperience. (Even tho that was what everyone said about the Tampa-CBJ matchup last year). Guess the real trial will come in the next round if they face Boston (according to my calculations).

I do really have a gut feeling that the leafs will come out on top. I really do.
The 2017 Washington, and the 2018 & 2019 bruins I said that Toronto was going to win, cuz I’m a fan, but i didn’t really believe it. This time I Do. I really feel like Toronto can win

I think it was CJ from sportsnet who said that one of the most frequent answers for teams that other teams dont want to play is Toronto. Which I think speaks volumes, but no opponent should be taken lightly since they are all great teams and easily can win against us.. columbus can beat us if they use their advantages, but I think that our battles with Caps and then Boston two years in a row has helped us become much better playoff team and team that would give other teams run for their money. And I actually love that we would be facing Boston afterwards because I would love to beat them. I would like to win against one of the best teams in the league. The harder the opponents, the better playoff experience you get.

Only players under contract for the current season can play, so Ylonen, K. Miller, Emilio Pettersen, Denisenko, Allison and Hoglander are also ineligible. This is half the reason players like Romanov, Sorokin, and Kaprizov havent signed yet

The team most frightening to suddenly be in the cup hunt is probably NYR imo. Now that Shesterkin has taken the reigns they are a scary team. At least K'andre Miller cant play so thats a little more relaxing

I dont think so. I mean they would be tough customers to everybody but they need more experience and depth to really be force in playoffs.

And the same was said about St. Louis last year. I guess you could argue Carolina getting back their goalies, Pesce and Dougie probably causes the biggest swing

But STL had depth in bottom-6 to really match anybody. Rangers were playing Haley and Smith on 4th line.. not the same thing. If Carolina gets a good goalie, I think they would be a dangerous team as well.

As a Caps fan I would love to see a Caps-Leafs matchup. There’s potential for a close and really entertaining series with a lot of goals by two offensively gifted teams. Maybe it’s Matthews’ turn to have matching hat-tricks with Ovi.

I mean the good news is TOR may actually win a playoff series for the first time in 16 years lol. I kid, I kid

@bhavikp27 is right though, a offense dominate team vs a defense dominate team.

GF/GP
TOR - 3rd
CBJ - 28th

GA/GP
TOR - 26th
CBJ - 3rd

PP%
TOR - 6th
CBJ - 27th

PK%
TOR - 21st
CJB- 12th

neither team is overly physical with CBJ ranking 20th in hits and TOR 29th. Columbus blocks a lot of shots though (ranks 5th) and doesn't turn the puck over much (Ranked 7th). On the flip side Toronto is 22nd in block shots and turns the puck over quite a bit ranking 26th in the NHL. The time away though is the x-factor in everything. It would make for a good series.

Yup. I think Toronto would win, but it would be tough against healthy columbus. They are good!

Again the time-off really is tough to make a prediction, but playoff hockey is usually tighter games, where defense prevails. I'd put the series at a coin flip right now, but at the end of the day its going to be who can knock the rust off faster. I haven't really paid to much attention to how the format would be, but if it were a best of 7, its a series I could see going 7.

Good luck to Toronto too, I've never understood why your fanbase was made out to be the bad guys. Although I'm not sure why theres some Toronto fans are acting like we will be an easy team to win against, tampa thought the same...

Robertson would be with the team though. May not play but practicing would be a terrific learning opportunity.

It's like Jordan and the Bulls getting past Detroit. I want Boston as well.
