MTL decline, we are way better with Drouin than Jost and Zadorov

Montreal isn’t trading a top 6 young forward on a good contract for Jost who has shown no signs of being a promising young player and big douche D man who will never be more than a 6D. If you want a good player to be able to make a good playoff run it’s going to cost you something valuable whether you like it or not.

A year and a bit of Coleman cost a 1st and a B+ prospect. You can’t tell me that 3 years of Drouin isn’t worth than Coleman.

Montreal probably decline that.

I also don't think the fit is their for Colorado. Not a fan of acquiring both Drouin and Lapierre. Even though they are good playmakers that's two pretty soft forwards to fit into the top 6.

Drouin's contract isn't that "good" considering that he's only hit 53 points twice and averages ~48 point pace for his career. There are better deals to be had than him that we could target instead - especially considering that this will be a buyers market in both trades and UFA.

Coleman isn't a good comparable at all because his price was largely dictated by his low cap hit and Tampa's desperate need low-cap players, neither of which apply in this case.

Drouin could be really good in the future but I don’t see it happening with MTL. I think Conor Timmins Is the player Mtl would be interested in. Zadorov + Timmins?

Forget Timmins, he's not getting moved for Drouin.

Zadorov + would be fine, but Montreal fans in general have been pretty vocal about not being interested in him.

Perhaps you'd be interested in Zhuravlyov as an add-on. He was Romanov's partner at the WJC and his steady presence contributed to Romanov being the best D in the tournament. Uniting them would be a pretty smart move by Bergevin given how good they looked together at the WJC.

As a Habs fans, I would definitely be interested in him, but I'm not going to pay top picks/prospects/players for a career 3rd pairing defender.

The general consensus is that Zadorov will bring back a 2nd + 3rd (or 2nd + 4th if it's a high 2nd). Would you be willing to pay that, or what would be your offer?

Zadorov isn't really a "career 3rd pairing defender" btw. Most of his time on the Avs he was a top 4 D; it was only recently that he started to get bumped down due to the emergence of Graves. And even on the 3rd pairing he's not your typical 3rd pairing guy as he's capable of playing a big shutdown role against the best players in the NHL. His 1v1 defending in transition is excellent so he's done really well shutting down McDavid and Patrick Kane in the past on numerous occasions.

It's kind of tough because we really don't need another bottom pairing defender. Romanov is pretty much identical to what you just described. With Mete/Chiarot/Romanov, I don't know how we would fit him on the team. As far as value goes, I'd imagine Colorado could get that from a handful of teams across the league.
