He's not available but if he was, I think a top 10 protected first should do

Underated guy. I don't know if they'd want to meet any specific need in a trade involving him, but in terms of pick/prospect value as a rental, I'd say a mid-late first + prospect (value of prospect depending on where that first is).

The price would be astronomical! This year Rangers first round pick and probably one of Lundkvist or Miller.
I know it’s a high price but that would be the only way to get him out of Montreal by a super return

That would be the market value but make it sure the Habs won’t sell him for that. They would ask for a astronomical return that would include a top prospect and the rangers first round pick.

Hahahahahahaha....
Either D prospect alone is waaay to much to pay.
The 1st round would be Montreal's going back to NY with Danault.

You're dreaming.
Miller or Lundquist for Danault..... good grief Charlie Brown.!!!

You are dreaming ff! The price for Danault is what it is. If a team call for him that what Bergevin will ask since he is not on the trading block. You can think what you want i don’t care dude but that is the reality. Bergevin won’t take anything less then that and if you don’t like it just move on.

??? I hope you mean if the pick is a top 10 pick... Why would Montreal trade one of the better defensive centers in the league for a late 1st?

With one year remaining and without an extension, that's his market value imo. However it would have to be a massive overpayment for Bergevin to trade him since he's not available. Danault is definitely underrated as a player but we tend to overrate his value

A potential selke center isn't going to be traded for only a late 1st. Also look at the 5v5 points he puts up compared to high end players.

He is not that good... just appears to be good player playing on a very very bad Habs team.

Seriously... you think he brings in a top 1st round pick and an A level prospect.
For a defensive specialist center. Lol.... that's why you still have Bergevin and why Montreal sucks.
Sucks bad with no hope in the future.
One of the worst futures for Franchises out there. No top talent in the league or on the way.
What a disgrace a once proud franchise has become.

Ottawa has better team and future than Habs. (Even with their dip**** owner)

Lol... you're right he would not be traded or treated as " potential selke center"
With what maybe 10 goals 20 assists.
Lol hes already overpaid, for a good team that actually has to worry about cap.

You've got a nice player, but not one worth a top 10 pick, plus prospects. You just have no talent in Montreal so your fooled by a hard working player.
Probably dont see that work ethic in Montreal either.

Don't think I've seen a more idiotic comment on this site. You know you can check sites to see how many points he had right? The last time he finished with less than 30 points in a season he only played 52 games.

He plays the best lines every night and still has 56% faceoff wins meanwhile outproducing guys like Matt Tkachuk, Ryan O'Reilly, William Nylander, Mitchell Marner, Anze Kopitar, Andrei Svechnikov, Evgeny Kuznetsov. He's 30th in points when it comes to 5v5 points all while playing on one of the biggest shut down lines in hockey.

This comment wasn't even worth replying too, but please stop making yourself look like a fool.

You sound like you're trying to convince yourself.....
Because you're argument holds no water here.
Lol... I mean he tops out at 13 and 40 for his career year.
And again hes 3rd line on a bottom tier team.
I dont dislike Danault, you're confused...
Just as i am confused by the notion he brings back in trade a locked in top 10 pick and A level prospect.
That's ludicris, hes 27 his best years are behind him too.
Too funny....
Guess its about time they got some talent in Montreal.
Wouldn't be surprised if the League needed to fix the lottery for them like they did for Edmonton. Probably takes multiple lotteries for Habs ....

Yeah, it's pretty clear you are trolling. I threw facts at your face and you came back with your terrible opinion and no facts to back it up. Thanks for trying.

You really dont get it. HE IS NOT BETTER THAN ANY PLAYER YOU LISTED ABOVE.
your biased.... Danault is a nice 3rd line center on a bottom tier team. That's all he is he and ever will be .
You're funny though....

The facts are found in my post shorty.....
Nobody on any team in any league goes into any game thinking...."OMG how are we going to stop Philli Danault??"
He may be a good player, but your team is so bad they make an average defensive center , who actually does his job, look good. It's not that Danault is good... the rest of that club is trash.
Do he looks like a player... but really just an average NHL player.
Come back when you recognize talent... and no there is none on Montreals roster. Nobody would want that roster.

Hes a Hab for life... you will never see a top 10 1st for Danault. Nor would you sniff Milker or Lundquist for him.

I agree that Danault isn’t goiing nowhere that why i suggested that the price to acquire him would be ridiculously high.

Danault is not a menace? He have more point at 5 on 5 then Marner, Tavares, Pettersson, Barkov just to name those. With some significant Powerplay ice time he would be a 60-70 point center. Before making those kind of comment do a little research.
