Cirelli instead takes a 6.5m offersheet, and Cernak instead takes a 3m offersheet. You likely can't keep them both at this point.

No CBO, Palat isn't waiving. Killorn is the only movable piece as he can be dealt to 14 teams without his permission. Cirelli is way underpaid and gets far more on a offer sheet somewhere.

I would bet the offer sheets Point recieved were 9M or more. He turned them all down. Any OS of 6.5M has to be for 6+ years for Cirelli to probably consider it. Same with Cernak, an OS of 3M is like a 2M deal in Tampa.

theres a clear difference between point taking a team friendly deal and these guys getting offer sheeted for 200% of what tampa can give them. If somebody throws $8mm at sergachev for whatever term he says, A. its hard to say no, and B. its impossible for tampa to match.

That's not how taxes work. Max tax advantage based on state location is in the neighborhood of 13% (ignoring Canada's provincial rates for the moment). A far cry from your dubious 33%. The funny part is...adjusting for cost of living and sales & use tax, Tampa is actually more expensive than many NHL cities with higher taxes so the players are actually screwing themselves in some cases where the tax advantage isn't so great.

Next time you are responding to me hit the quote button or i wont see it (i saw the response after yours that quoted me).
Players care about more then just their cap hit. Bonuses, QO's, winning are all important when signing a contract. Also things like trust in management and previously built relations with team members and staff. Montreal traded Sergachev before he was even given a chance to play for them i would be surprised if even looks at any offer sheet recieved from them. If a team offers him an an 8Mx5yr deal sure he will sign it since it walks him to UFA and he gets paid big.
On the other hand you have the GM's POV. Before sending out an OS they have to acknowledge that this would cause bad relations between the 2 teams for future trading if its signed regardless of it being matched or not. Also the GM has to evaluate the player they are send an offer sheet to so they arent drastically overpaying the player. In the case of Sergachev any GM who sends him an offer of 8M is a complete idiot. Why would he deserve more then players like McAvoy, Werenski, and Provorov, who are all better then him and making marginally less then that

great. my point still stands. nothing is preventing a GM from being an idiot.
