I like both trade ideas however would expect TBL to want more considering Cirelli is practically a top 5 draft pick right now yet 4 years older.

Yeah but Cirelli needs to be paid and with Tampa already having 2 elite centers (Stamkos and Point) they can afford to lose Cirelli and his pay increase for an elite prospect on an ELC for 3 years.

Very even trade off.

Why would Detroit give up long term years of Mantha for two years of Rasmus Ristolainen? That trade does us no good as we are set at RD for the foreseeable future. With Hronek, Seider and possibly Lindstrom and other RDs within our organization. No way Yzerman deals Mantha within the division without a 1st round pick coming back. That's not even remotely happening. I'm for moving Mantha for the right price and Ristolainen isn't the right price. Detroit is set at RD plus we could draft Drysdale if we wanted to whom will be a better version of Ristolainen. Doubt Buffalo has what it takes to get Mantha. Sorry this doesn't move the needle for us.

I agree in he could be a top 5 draft prospect value wise, but he hasn't proved his scoring touch yet so I think that's perfect
If we could get mantha for that I would do it, maybe if they like Montour better than risto switch them but whichever d works do it + the other three assets.

I agree. Mantha is by far Detroit's most talented offensive player and they just traded AA. 2 things you probably take in to consideration.

His underlying numbers have proved the offence. He doesn't get nearly as much PP time as the rest of the team and his defense is almost Selke level. Tampa would want more than the pick, guaranteed. Cirelli is proven and 22, those 18 year old kids are not.

Yeah we thought our right side was set as well dude. Wouldn't put too much stock in Hronek Seider and Lindstrom until they actually prove something. Seider is a top prospect for sure. Ristolainen has been in the trenches for 5 years and is not some green kid off of Grand Rapids. Yzerman values experienced D as he did in Tampa.

If by a miracle we land Alexis Lafreniere and that's a big if, I'm all for moving Mantha for like i said the right price. Buffalo doesn't have the pieces for him as Yzerman probably wants either a young sniper or a future top 4 LD which Buffalo can't provide us. Yeah Detroit and Buffalo don't make good trading partners when it comes to Anthny Mantha

You're kidding right over the course of a 82 game schedule, Hronek is averaging .5 points per game or on a 41 point season. Pretty sure he's proving himself and Seider will be better on the defensive end then Ristolainen. And Lindstrom is a solid shut down bottom pairing RD we will be fine. Sorry we don't need Risto and Mantha isn't getting moved for a RD that could walk in 2 years.

Ya those are the most likely players to go in the top 6 unfortuantely. I'd really like Rossi and hope teams pass over him because of his size (just like Caufield). But there are a ton of great players still left so dealing the 2020 1st is a huge gamble, but on a player like Cirelli it would be a really wise choice.

hahaha. Okay. Talk to us when Hronek has actually played a full season. Not some projection crap. You're talking about a guy that's put up 4 straight 40 point season's. Both Seider and Lindstrom could be in the AHL all year next year. Pretty sure Stevie Y is going to want a proven commodity on the back end. By the way when did Anthony Mantha become some super star? He's a "good" top 6 forward who's never hit 50 points in his career. He's not even as good as Reinhart. Let's not get carried away here....

Mantha is the same age as ristolainen and ristolainen has 54 more points and is a defensmen.

I wouldn't make the trade if I was Detroit, but Mantha isn't anything special

Tampa declines the trade offer. Cirelli is already the team's 2C with a very high ceiling. Stamkos is back on the wing and Point-Cirelli will be the top C on the team for quite some time. Tampa would only think of moving Cirelli for a considerable overpayment, which this offer is not.
