I would do that trade, not sure CGY would. They’d probably want Dobson and isles probably wouldn’t do that 1 for 1

Well its not a foregone conclusion he won't resign. With Gaudreau on the team for the next two seasons and guys like Beauvillier and Dobson getting better, the Islanders would have as good a chance as anyone in the East to win the Cup imo.

You need players that can produce on ELCs. Wahlstrom is more untouchable than Bellows. This reminds me of fans wanting Barzal traded for Duchene before his calder trophy year.

Gaudreau is a fantastic player, but this would be a disaster for the Isles. Gaudreau does not fit the Trotz style and his points would decline, then in 2 years he would not re-sign with the Isles.
