He's never played better than a 3rd pairing role. There's no chance he plays as well as Chiarot.

HE LITERALLY PLAYED TOP4 THIS YEAR LMAO! Also, Chiarot hadn't played top4 consistently before you signed him, and his PDO suggests he's gonna come crashing down next year.

No, I'm not. There's D men on the canes who are complete garbage (Joel Edmundson) but Haydn Fleury isn't and that's just the truth, you're just stubborn and don't wanna change your wrong opinion despite being provided with facts

You haven't proven anything. Just because he had a career year (13:40 TOI/Game LMAO), you think he's magically a top 4 defender when in reality, he was the 7th most used defender when sorted by TOI. No PK time, very little PP time. Homer

He was carried as the 7th D man for most of the year dude, using TOI as a reliable stat is LMAO. He's a top 4 defender because when Pesce and Hamilton were injured, he slotted into the top 4 and started to post god like performances and great numbers LMAO. Stop being thick and accept it.

He's better than Chiarot. That's not a question. Not just that, he fits Montreal's needs better. He's not gonna score for fun, but he's quick enough to cover for Weber or Petry who are maybe a little slower than they used to be if you get where I'm going.

Any stats to back that up or is it just opinion? Because if your sure then just make it a conditional pick that upgrades to a 2nd, heck even a 2nd and a 3rd, if he is MTL's top LD. CAR gets their 2nd, and MTL doesn't give up a 2nd for yet another bottom 4 dman, everyone is happy.

There's nothing to accept. Nothing shows me he's a top 4 defender in the NHL. There's no stats that prove otherwise. Carolina might as well hold onto him because he's worth very little.

See, a reasonable habs fan. I knew in such a big fan base one had to exist. There's stats to back that up, but since EH made their RAPM charts patrons only, I cannot display it like I used to. All I can say is that when he was put in the top 4 after injuries, he flourished majorly, including becoming 2nd on the team (among the active defenders, so not above Dougie or Pesce) in xGA only to Slavin, and really started to put in solidified defensive performances. He also broke his goal duck this year, which is a useless stat for defenders, but it's a good achievement. He's done all this with a really low PDO. His offensive output would probably have been higher if Carolina had any form of offensive depth scoring this year. His xGF was really good, not Dougie or Gardiner good, but above someone like Pesce or Slavin still. That being said, please take this with a grain of salt, his sample size isn't the largest.
