Okay, let me walk you through why we don't CBO Nino.
1st he's one of the best defensive forwards in the game. You say his production slowed, but he was not bad. Saying that shows you don't watch the Canes often.
He has potential 60 point upside for a team with depth issues. We have a lot of names, but only 1 forward not on the SAT line passed 30 points, and it was Necas with 40.

Moving onto the rest of this to explain why it's.... shambolic
Foegele in the top 6? The dude has no hands. It's why he's down the line-up. If he could score, he'd already be in the top 6, but it's a downgrade from Nino to Foegele and quite a distinctive one.
The San Jose trade, oh where do we start. Bokk on his own is worth more than Labanc, let alone adding in a potential 20 goal scorer in Dzingel.
I do actually like the Montreal trade.
Re-signing Edmundson is just not happening, him TVR and Vatanen are all gone.
Namestikov won't make nearly that much, he's not been nearly worth that since he was traded *from Tampa to New York 3 years ago*
Bean will likely get the last roster spot if Fleury is traded, because he just destroyed the AHL.
All in all.... not very good

7 guys just doesn't go into 6 spots. It's a maths problem, not because anyone is bad. Unless they move Gardiner/Dougie to forward (which may be a possibility) they have to move one because otherwise Bean's growth is being stunted in Charlotte/Chicago/whoever our affiliate is next year.

Montreal has every interest in giving up fair value for a good young LD. Right team, fans need to just get over the fact you didn't get Sebastian Aho and deal with the fact it's a perfect fit and it's good value grin

It's terrible value. Just because Aho wanted to play in Montreal doesn't mean Fleury does.

It's great value. Just because Aho used your franchise to stay in Carolina doesn't mean you need to turn down a good top 4 LD

He'd be lucky to make Montreal. Montreal isn't willing to give up a 2nd round pick for a depth defensemen. Just because your owner was too cheap to give Aho what he wants doesn't mean our owner isn't going to overpay to get Fleury. Remember how much of a baby your owner was when Aho signed the offersheet because he was salty he had to pay someone what they were worth?

I wasn't salty LMAO, from the second it was tenured Dundon said "We'll match it lol" and it was never a question. Remember how salty you were when it was matched? On from that to Fleury, he's not a depth D man. He has become a top 4 defender, and someone is going to give up a 2nd for him. Montreal need a top 4LD, so it makes sense. Now stop making yourself look like a petulant child please

He said "we will match it" and then continued to throw jabs at MB because he was salty. I didn't say you were salty (unless you are the owner). Montreal needs a top 4LD, not a guy with 132 career NHL games with a career high of 14 points in a season.

Using points to judge a Dmans talent sums up everything I need to know. Haydn is a top 4 D man on the best D core in hockey. A 2nd is a light price, just accept it

Literally no. You're just not aware of Haydn's value, which is fine, but you're too illinformed to argue against it

There's nothing that shows he is worth a 2nd round pick besides the fact he was drafted early. Maybe accept facts and stop overvaluing your players.

Accept facts? Okay, let's talk facts. He posted the best xGA of his career, accompanied by the best CA and xGF. His possession metrics were all around solid, with a PDO down the toilet. I told you, he's worth a second, you're just not aware of how good he is. **Just accept facts** and stop undervaluing players you know nothing about

So because he put up career highs it means he's now worth a 2nd round pick? SMH.

Honest question here, will he be better than Chiarot playing for MTL? Because if not then MTL would likely prefer to see how Romanov fits in and make a decision after that.

He's never played better than a 3rd pairing role. There's no chance he plays as well as Chiarot.

Because he got consistent ice time in the top 4 and put up the best metrics of any Hurricane not named Dougie Hamilton, Jaccob Slavin or Brett Pesce is why he's worth a 2nd. It's called selling high. It's why Montreal fans wanted the moon for Domi last year, remember?

He's better than Chiarot. That's not a question. Not just that, he fits Montreal's needs better. He's not gonna score for fun, but he's quick enough to cover for Weber or Petry who are maybe a little slower than they used to be if you get where I'm going.
