What is Wison's return for BOS to acquire; 2-pieces = 1st pick and either a Goalie prospect (Swayman, Keyser, Vladar) OR Vaak?; or
Other________________, _____________________, ___________________???
That's a tough one and I honestly don't have a good answer lol. Just looking at RW's from a per 60 basis at 5v5 over the last 3 years, his closest production comp would be Alex Tuch. However, Wilson blows him out of the water in the Hit/60 department by almost 3x.
Goal/60
AT - .70
TW - .76
Points/60
AT - 1.85
TW - 1.84
Hits/60
AT - 5.6
TW - 13.9
Blocks/60
AT - 2.36
TW - 2.37
Among his peers at RW, he ranks 32nd in P/60 over the last 3 seasons which is very good......Here is what concerns me just looking at the numbers though:
of his 36 goals at 5v5 he had 32 that we're assisted by either Ovie, Kuz or Backstrom
of his 51 assist at 5v5 he had 31 that we're goals scored by Ovie, Kuz or Backstrom
of his 87 points at 5v5 Ovie factored into 43% of the goals
Now this would make sense as his 3 most common linemates over the last 3 years has been Ovie, Kuz and Backstrom but he's not going to be playing opposite an Ovie in Boston. If he's on L2 then he'll get Krejci and DeBrusk, neither of which are the caliber of player that his current linemates are. He also see 18+ a night in WSH and I don't think he'd see that in Boston either.
I guess the answer would depend on WSH needs, but I'd think 1st + young NHL player (top 6 FWD or top 4 DEF upside) + a very good prospects.
