PLD to MTL- not fair but what it would take

Description
Montreal would have to offersheet him at 10+ or make a trade offer that would pry him out of Columbus. IMO I don’t think the trade is worth it for Montreal but that’s the type of offer it would take to get him.

KKs value is low after a disappointing sophomore season and Domi is a center to replace PLD on the top line, the 1st is well the piece that puts it over the top for Columbus to accept without thinking about the trade, it won’t be a fair trade but a trade for PLD would have the pry him out of Columbus.

That's actually a very fair trade but it's not worth it for either side

I would imagine it would be at the very least lottery protected 1st. But if I replaced Drouin with Domi in mine and added Poehling and a 2nd like I said, it's pretty similar. Domi, Kotkaniemi, Poehling, Juulsen, chi 2nd, 2021 2nd. Hell this is probably better asset wise

Not really anymore. The offersheet was made before we got to know how great Suzuki was at center. We still have KK, Danault and Domi

If the 1st was lottery protected, I'd flinch.

Frankly, tho, I don't see why Montreal doesn't just run with the centers already there. Well, aside from impatience... wink

Your trade isn’t even close... Quality over quantity.

Juulson- Concussion issues and as a defenseman Columbus has no use for him.
Drouin- top 6 WING. Domi is a better fit because Columbus has no use for more wings. We have too many of them already.
KK- disappointing sophomore season, he’s fine
Poehling- middle 6 center prospect. Honestly right now he and KK have the same value to Columbus.
    Chi second= Anderson
    1st>>> 2nd.

You trade doesn’t have much interest outside of Domi and KK. Juulson and a 2nd isn’t the same value as a 1st, nor is it as interesting to Columbus.

Also there wouldn’t be protection as MTL is getting g the best player in the trade, plus he’s only 21.

Idk, if I'm CLB I dont consider that trade unless I get a premium prospect with Domi, Caufield?

MTL doesn't do that. We don't need a center that bad with Suzuki, Domi, Danault, Kotkaniemi and Evans who are all NHL level

I could see them actually doing that to be honest with you but in my opinion, its slightly too much. Mainly because of Anderson being added when he's not really what the Habs are trying to get here and the Habs 1st 2021 being added on top of Domi and Kotkaniemi feels like a too much. I thinks its real close though. I would be fine removing Anderson altogether and swapping the 1st for the 2nd 2021.

If it meant getting PLD signed to a 7-8M contract for like 7-8 years I think I might have to consider it from MB's perspective though. (This is under the assumption having to get QC born players is this important to the organization - for me personally its not)

They need a #1 2 way center, or just a star #1 Center. Maybe Suzuki can prove to be that.

What I meant is that we have already plenty of options in our system so there's no need to get rid of Caufield/KK/Romanov even though PLD is a personal favorite of mine

That’s actually a big W for Montreal. They get Dubois and Anderson and still draft Perfetti/Quinn/Holtz
