BOOM! 100% correct. He was literally ranked the best goalie in the entire NHL for high danger situations...LAST YEAR. I can fully accept and agree he can't take the same workload, but there's zero reason not to atleast sign him. (which I agree this post does sign him) Additonally, it should be pretty easy to pitch a 1A / 1B tandem role to a guy like Talbot. With Crow's injury history Talbot might even get the starting nod more.

Yeah I mean the Lehner/Crawford duo was one of the better ones in the entire league. I'd say Chicago tries to go out and sign Khudobin or Kuemper or someone like that and give them a ton of starts.

The issue for Chicago is that their best offensive players (Kane/Toews) are also massive defensive liabilities at this point in their career. Kane in particular is one of the worst defensive F's in the game. I'm not sure of the best way to rectify that, and it's kinda a situation unique to them. But we'll see what they do.

They especially need a 1st LD-man to replace Keith and they need to continue developing their young players... Beaudin, Mitchell, Boqvist, Dach...

Agree with the 1st part. Toews is still quite good defensively tough. He still gets Selke votes every year. Kane is the offense. You're correct that he's not great defensively, but every team needs a scorer and he contributes alot toward that. It'll be very interesting to see what their future holds indeed.

A couple things. Corsi is a line and team stat more than an individual. Toews has been getting zero help defensively in those 3 years and yes I'm agree Kane doesn't play a ton of defense...they've been on the same line together quite a bit. I'm not complaining about Kane. He's the best player on the Hawks, but we can't say he's the best goalie on the Hawks...because he doesn't play in net. So we should be able to know he's mostly offensive and not defensive. He still gets a ton of votes because he's needed to carry his line defensively.

cory schneider brought back the 9th overall pick. Shesterkin should bring that back plus another asset. Shesterkin is going to be a top 5 goalie in the league by seasons end.
