1. Columbus matches - like most responses here are saying - its going to take an 10M AAV OS to get PLD from CLB.
2. Don't understand why most are so keen on moving Domi? While his stats this year weren't as good as last, the team as a whole did poorly compared to last (with a few exceptions ie. Tatar). Even so, Domi's pts aren't that bad to be giving up on him so quickly. My opinion is that he set the bar so high in his first season as a hab that he didn't meet the same expectations this year. I fully expect a bounce back year from him in 20/21 and would not encourage moving him. I think the motivation for him would be to sign a lucrative "gap/transition" 2-3 year contract (which would still give us his RFA rights). Then he could break the bank if he consistently produces at the 18/19 rate.
3a. Having KK assume #3 C right now is a bit premature. His defensive game is clearly lacking and he needs to be able to work on that down in Laval. While it may be a tough pill to swallow, it will only help in his development to assume a leadership role and #1C position on a regular basis to become the future star we all know he can be.
3b. I don't believe Poehling is going to be C in this league and the way things are looking he looks to be a bit more poised to be a LW in the future. he showed chemistry with KK and Laval last year in that role and as we look into the future he can very well slot into that role for the Habs in the near future as a middle 6 pairing.
4. Evans needs to be given full time opportunity as #4C in the NHL. He's shown capable of handling the minutes, speed and physicality of the NHL (albeit in a small sample).
My Cs for 20/21 would be as follows:
Danault
Domi
Suzuki
Evans
Thompson (backup)
KK, Poehling can work on their overall game in Laval in leadership roles and used as call ups throughout the season.
