Nothing embarrassing about it. The Panthers are in a terrible spot.

Bobrovsky is gonna cost 2 1st round picks to get another team to CBO. I wouldn't do that because the Panthers want to cut 10M in cap and won't be contenders anyway. May as well start rebuilding.

Why would Colorado, a team with one of the lowest cap hits and payrolls in the League, want to buy out and discard their #2 C? Actually, there isn't a player on their roster who is a sensible buy-out candidate, "free" or not. They are one of the 5 or 6 teams in that position, along with Anaheim, Boston, Los Angeles and Toronto.

All rumors.....you still don’t trade your best player and a top 5 player in the league to get rid of Bob.

So Colorado are going to lose FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS along with their 1sts in the next 3 drafts, in exchange for a relatively minor upgrade at 2C? squinty smile

Btw I love the retention on Barkov, as if THAT would be the clinching detail to push the deal over the line. tears of joy

Barkov immediately makes them strong cup favorites. I don't know how you can call this a minor upgrade at 2C.

Those firsts are LATE firsts. They will be in the 25-31 range.

If you don't want to win 2 cups then don't make the trade.

Go ahead and make a team where you cut 10M without super unrealistic trades then... Bobrovsky's gonna cost a MINIMUM of 2 1sts

I never said buy out Kadri. I said they can add a player they want to buy out to the trade.

These aren't good firsts they're in the late 20s.

But the Avalanche have no such player. Even Cole is useful as a bridge for Byram and Timmons.

Johnson and Makar average 21 minutes per night, just behind team leader Sam Girard at 21:19. He's still very useful. Colorado would never want to buy him out.
