Two seconds and a depth guy. Turris has much, much more upside than Neal, even if the risk is very high.

If Avs ask Johnson to waive his NMC in order to protect Graves, they may have to pay Seattle not to pick him to honour him waiving. Colorado may also have to pay Seattle to not select Francouz. I think they'd be happy to select Compher though.

I think Skjei will be the one to go from Carolina. I would also not be surprised if a deal between San Jose and Seattle is done (similar to the Fleury deal). Maybe around Burns. I doubt Seattle will take Neal when they can grab someone like Jones. Philly might pay to have one of Ghost/JVR/Voracek moved.

I was thinking about making a deal with Colorado to protect Francouz, but figured that Grubauer will be a UFA in 2021 so he won't need to be protected. Definitely a good chance that he gets extended though and if he is then Colorado will probably have to figure something out to keep them both.

Good idea. I've been thinking about that too. It kinda seems to me like Sakic has set himself up in a perfect situation with his goalies for the ED. One of them is an UFA, and the other will at that time have 1 year until UFA. Even if Grubauer is resigned it's would be a bit risky/short-sighted for Seattle to pick a goalie with just a year left to UFA (Francouz).

It would be risky for Sakic to let Grubauer test UFA, but if he trusts him and has a deal in place to resign him on July 1st then it might be a very shrewd plan to navigate the ED.
