The Only Way Cozens is 2C Next Year Flat Cap and CBO

Créé par: Chapee44
Équipe: 2020-21 Sabres de Buffalo
Date de création initiale: 7 mai 2020
Publié: 7 mai 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
I think the offer sheet could work because here the Leafs would have approximately 6 million dollars in cap space to fill 6 roster spots. 3 for 3 if you consider Lehtonen, Barabanov and Thompson locks... They wouldn't likely use a CBO unless it was on Kerfoot and then it's a choice they're making to match. I don't know about the trade value but I think it's reasonable and fits needs for both teams.

Risto sucks. No way dubas touches him even for free. Dubas is an Analytics guy so risto is an extremely hard pass. Maybe if Risto was an RFA, and Dubas sheds a bad contract in the trade (ie. zaitsev for Ceci swap). But that’s just not the case.

Also buffalo rushed middlstat and look at him. Doubt they make the same mistake twice with couzens

Then explain trading for & signing Ceci??

But yeah, i doubt the Leafs would trade Nylander to a rival

I just did. The leafs traded a bad contract (Zaitsev) for Ceci and gave him a one year deal because they hadn’t acquired Barrie yet. Chances are, if leafs already had Barrie before the Ceci trade, they wouldn’t have resigned Ceci. They just needed a guaranteed body on the right side

Leafs don't want ristolinen. If anything they will want jokiharju as he and lehtonen used to be line mates in the shl. So reuniting them would probs be interesting

U can’t say Dubas wouldn’t possibly trade for Risto,
with the reasoning that he’s an analytics guy,
when he’d traded for Ceci who has bad numbers

If your argument is that he got rid of one bad defenseman for a better one... well... Risto is better than Ceci, so you’d upgrade the spot

    But again,
i doubt the Leafs & Sabres would make a trade like this

So because one player struggled, all players will struggle? Cozens has nothing to do with mittelstaft

It’s a lesson learned. There’s no point in rushing these young guys cause many times it doesn’t pan out, middlestat probably would have a good NHL career if he wasn’t mismanaged

Ceci was just a placeholder for one season. He was a warm body. At the time they signed him they have zero NHL experienced RHD. Risto has some term. Leafs will look elsewhere. Zero interest in risto

mittelstadt is 21 years old. if he cant make it in the NHL its not because he played to soon. its because he isn't good enough. He has played a full year in college, played in the world juniors, played in the AHL and NHL.

Exactly, too much bouncing around, 2018-19 he shouldn’t have been in the NHL. He should’ve played a full season in the AHL to develop him further. He wasn’t ready. And now this season he flip flopped from NHL TO AHL. Not good. I don’t think couzins makes it yet. Why rush a player?

They’re both centre and were both Picked around a similar spot. Sabres should Be very hesitant to rush Couzins. Middlstat is a lesson learned

One thing to remember is the NHL just renewed that awful NHL-CHL agreement which means that Cozens either plays in the NHL next year or he goes back for another season of torching 16 year olds... I'd argue the NHL is his best option.
