Edmonton and San Jose trades

Description
JJ no cap penalty CBO buyout

If Puljujarvi can bounce back and play like he has been in Finland this forward group becomes scary good and anyone in the top nine is capable of playing on the first line, while the bottom line creates match up nightmares by playing against other teams top lines and shutting them down. Your top four defense are solid and the bottom pair are just minute munchers that can move up and serve as a stop gap in case of injury. Jarry signs a prove it contract for a year and Engelland signs for some toughness and defensive depth and there is good depth in the minors when injuries inevitably happen.

Every need the team has is filled.
Top six forward in Labanc
Bottom Pair that doesn't get trounced every night
Young cheap scoring in Pool Party
Goalie problem solved
Excellent depth for next year with a little cap space to make a move if needed

i'm in agreement here. This is all around bad.

i don't see the penguins trading Hallander either.
He's like their only ray of hope next year for a cheap forward on a rookie deal who can contribute.
This is a team that has to worry about cap. It's not like they have any breathing room.

I do not agree what so ever that Jarry=Labanc. Value comparison is as bad as this entire trade idea overall. Getting an aging bad blueliner for two older less mobile blueliners(no thanks). Bjugstad trade is decent, but would be a big risk. Also we do not need Labanc when we already have Rodriguez, who is miles better on both sides of the puck and can play both sides of special teams and is also more versatile. Last but least, Hållander isn't going anywhere, he is our second best prospect and could have a chance playing in two years.

He thinks Puljujärvi is worth going for, so my guess is that he has simply never seen an Edmonton game.

Wasting a 2nd too...

I'm an oilers fan, and although he isn't on a good deal (but it ends after the season) he is a really solid third pairing, penalty killing defender.

Think I say yes as SJ. Could be a good trade for both teams IMO. Labanc is better than most think

I like the trade for SJ, but I'd prefer to let them keep Rodriguez and Hallander, and send us a RW, even a prospect. We are really weak on the right side. I think Labanc has value, but I think a one for one is more likely.

However, Labanc for Murray/Jarry + RW? Hell yeah.

Besides the team having too many Right shots, "Young cheap scoring in Pool Party" will turn into his second team he wants out of because he won't buy in and sully won't play him. (See Galchenyuk, Alex)
