Fredrik Händemark has signed a new contract with the San Jose Sharks.

Been rumored for a few weeks now, glad it’s done. Big, tough center from RedHawks. Probably goes to the Baracuda unless he has a big camp.

Maybe he'll finally help the Sharks put the puck in the dang net.

I played youth hockey in Stockton, we got to play a shootout during intermissions sometimes. it was always fun watching the Heat vs Baracuda after practice once in a blue moon

The Barracuda might finally have a team worth watching next season.

If he actually knew them he would know Handemark isn’t much of a scorer and he’s not likely to make the squad out of camp. Handemark likely tops out as a 4th line, tough character guy who excels at face offs. He could maaaayyybe reach 3C someday but he’d have to take it from Kellman.

What do you think about Brodzinsky? I loved him when he was on the Kings and wish they put him in the top 6 and gave him a real shot

He struggled to stay with the Sharks. He even played with Jumbo for a game or two but got sent down after a 3 games and never came back up. He put up 30 points in 45 games with the Barracuda but just couldn’t make an impact with the Sharks.

He still has upside and I was hoping he’d get another call up but guys like Kellman, Gregor and Noesen outperformed him in every facet.

don't really follow the European leagues that well except for prospects for the upcoming draft. I mostly follow the OHL, WHL, QMJHL and occasionally the USHL.

Great! He has outgrown the OHL and will spend thr next one or two seasons in the AHL. After that, hopefully he'll be NHL ready. He resembles a Mike Hoffman type player.

I was very envious of LA when they got him. I hope he doesn’t turn out to be like Goldobin, all offense and no defense.

If he is, he won't last long in LA. Kings don't like players that can't play defense. Regardless of offense.

Todd McLellan HATES those guys. That’s why Goldy left - Todd didn’t like his game.

Same with Grundstrom and Prokhorkin. Although, I don't think they are bad defensively. I don't think they fit his system because he doesn't play them much. He never plays Grundstrom

The thing about Todd’s hiring that confused me is I think he was pretty bad overall with young players. He doesn’t trust them at all. I know he and Blake are buddies and all but LA should’ve taken a different route coaching wise, maybe someone younger who is more prone to giving the youth a chance.

I wanted Alain V so bad! I was so upset with Todd hiring although he seems to be doing pretty dang good for what he's got roster wise. I think hes decent for rebuilding teams,but when Kings are a contender again I think he'll get fired. Hes not a playoff coach
