Sharks Fans - What is the value of Burns and Couture

Description
I will obviously start with saying that they won't waive to come to Winnipeg because Winnipeg is a terrible city and who would ever agree to live there unless the option was a life in purgatory and that may even be a favourable fate. I've heard that if you decide to live in Winnipeg, your life expectancy will drop significantly for you and your loved ones. It's a god-awful city and they should just obliterate it entirely and put its 750,000 residents out of their misery because, what's more miserable than a life in Winnipeg?
For those who made it past that, thank you. For those who are already posting in the comment section that "They'd never waive for Winnipeg", thank you for keeping the ACGM community alert with your drivel.
tl;dr: Winnipeg is a dump
ACTUAL QUESTION THOUGH: With San Jose's window seemingly shutting, what would you feel comfortable accepting for Burns and/or Couture? I know there'd be some sentimental issues with dealing two long term Sharks. But what sort of prospects does the SJS org need? What would make you feel good about doing more of a retool with the current situation of the team.
I'm not necessarily saying that the Jets *should* be pursuing these two players based on age/cap hit, but a high quality NHL centre and a minute munching RHD is exactly what they need (and Burns is as close to Buff as it gets and they missed him dearly this year). But based on age/cap hit, what would it take for GMDW to pull the trigger?
Hope everyone is taking care all over the ACGM world. Even the 'Peg haters, stay safe.

Truthfully, I don't think either of them would care. It's not like it doesn't get cold in southern Ontario.
But according to a lot of people on here, anyone with a NTC/NMC wouldn't ever waive for WPG.

If there was a world in which this would happen. The package would need to include some pretty amazing stuff, I know they are both older but Couture is only 30 and Burns is still one of the best D in the league and very in shape. I would say a young top sixer, a great prospect and a first

It's not exactly a desirable destination, team aside. Of course nobody knows what a player would or wouldn't do, but if you looked at all of the no trade lists in the league, I'd be willing to bet Winnepeg is among the most common.

Edit: Couture I think could fetch a decent return from a team that needs a C, but with Burns I can't see a team offering much more than just the fact that they'll take the contract.

I've been to Winnipeg and it's not the greatest city. Way too cold.

Burns wouldn't cost much. He's good now, but on the back end of his contract it's not going to be pretty. He'll be making 8 million at 40.

For Couture, would you do Vesalainen, Copp, and a 2020 2nd?

I live in Winnipeg and yes, it can get very cold. But I've also lived in Toronto and there is a certain charm to Winnipeg, truthfully.

I think WPG would make that deal for Couture. He'd be playing with some younger line-mates so that'll help slow down his decline.

Yeah, that's sort of what I figured with Burns. He's 35 and has a ton of term left. But he is also a freak of nature

The 56 and 40 million dollars in salary, any clauses they may have and their ages will limit their return

Awesome, then dont trade for them together. Both are well worth the contracts they are on right now, so the sharks wont be moving them for less based on that

Assuming you are wanting both, Id say:

    San Jose Sharks
    Little
    Perreault
    Vesalainen/Samberg
    2020 1st
Conditional 2022 1st if Winnipeg gets cup in either 20/21 or 21/22

    Winnipeg Jets
    Couture (1 mil retained)
    Burns (2.5 mil retained)

The salary difference is roughly 3mil that Winnipeg takes on

Maybe swap Ves/samberg for Rosy? Roslovic can slide into an NHL line-up a lot easier and they'll have a lot of contract control.

Burns, despite his age, contract and past season's decline, is still worth a 1st round pick.

Couture is at least a 1st and a middle six player, or a high prospect and middle pick/prospect.

I can't see the Sharks trading Couture at this point. He'll never be an MVP or considered a superstar player, but the dude is a solid two-way player and lights it up in the playoffs every postseason. I like Burns but his defense is hard to accept, especially when we're stuck with Karlsson whose production makes him a better (but more expensive) version of Burns.
