Blockbuster with TB

Description
TB is in cap hell with their seven NTCs and two NMCs, as they will be significantly over the salary cap for 2020-21 season. They can't sign any RFAs. Yzerman takes advantage of this, although he gives up multiple high ceiling prospects.

Yeah who's going to be laughing when they're totally screwed this summer, BriseBois is royally screwed. He's probably going to lose 2 of Cernak, Cirelli and Sergachev if there winds up be no CBO and that's a very good possibility. Only Killorn has a 20 team trade list the rest are unmovable with their NMC/NTCs and all so BriseBois will have to get creative and it wont be easy.

I wouldn't be so sure that TB can get much more.. They're way over the cap, and offer sheets may not return that much.
With the current situation out there, many teams are not going to be in any position to sign any of their own or free agents. Since TB can't sign anyone at the moment, GMs can lowball the offers for TB's RFAs and not necessarily worry about TB matching. TB would only get future picks, and they are still in win now mode.

Win now mode? And why would you send them that if there in win now mode?

Because they can't sign anyone and they would only get future pics. Who knows what those picks will be, especially since they can be lowball offers. They get two former 1st round picks that have played in the NHL at rock bottom salaries, two high-end prospects rated as 1st rounders in their draft year that will probably be in the NHL in two years and two 2nd round picks that are possibly high in the 2nd round. Mastrosimone is rated as a top 6 forward and McIsaac has potential as a top pair defenseman. IMO not a bad return given the circumstances.

You do realize almost everyone here was in agreement that there would be a ton of offer sheets after last season and even the season before that. Last season there was 1.

They do have several older players with NTCs but those players are still putting up good amount of points and as long as they are going to a playoff team I think they get a player or 2 to waive. I still think maybe they move one of their 3 most wanted RFAs but I think they do that with a trade. Once the player signs an offer sheet then it goes to the team and then they have time to decide. They aren't as stuck as people here think they are. Plus we went through last season with Toronto and things turned out just fine for them.

That is very true and the hard part is balancing win now with the future.
