Arsen Khisamutdinov a signé un contrat de 2 ans d'une valeur de 1 590 000 $ avec les Canadiens de Montréal, le 1 mai 2020. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 795 000 $.
Khisamutdinov was one of two triple-overagers that were taken in last year's draft (the other one was a goalie that Edmonton got from the KHL). We'll see how he does in the AHL, but it says a lot about him wanting to be an NHLer to be willing to sign an ELC so soon after being drafted from Russia.
Reminds me more of Desharnais in his prime but giant.
Interesting.
I remember after that draft a media member asked Timmins why they went off the board with this kid (He was projected to go undrafted) and his answer was that they were really high on him but didn't want to get into an UDFA bidding war so they snatched him in the 6th round as a precautionnary step. Looks like they still like him a lot if they went out to sign him ahead of guys like Hillis, McShane and others.
